EVITA OXY Dissolved Oxygen Meter DANFOSS ANALYTICAL - COMPLEXITY MADE SIMPLE
How it works The EVITA OXY dissolved oxygen meter operates on Clark s principle: To initiate measurement a polarization voltage is applied between two electrodes. Gold is used as cathode and a silver wire as anode, both placed in an electrolytic system separated from the liquid by a gas permeable diaphragm. Oxygen molecules penetrating the diaphragm are attracted to the positively charged gold cathode. A small electric current is thereby established between the gold cathode and silver anode. The transmitter converts this current into a usable 4-20 ma signal. Real diaphragm puncture detection - the diaphragm is constantly monitored and any rupture or other source of leakage is instantly detected Increased sensor life - an 18 silver wire is used to make the surface area of the anode as large as possible, increasing operating life to 2-3 years High reliability and accuracy - a prestressed, bonded diaphragm ensures predictable permeability at changing temperatures and prevents contamination of the electrolyte Automatic cleaning - the self-cleaning ball float with specially designed fins keeps the sensor clean for months - reducing maintenance time to a minimum High accuracy and noise immunity - the 4-20 ma HART transmitter is mounted directly behind the oxygen sensor and temperature sensor, ensuring high accuracy and noise immunity For installation everywhere - the EVITA OXY transmitter is intrinsically safe, approved by both CENELEC and UL Long meter cables - the two-wire 4-20 ma HART transmitter allows up to 3,000 ft between transmitter and display/plc Built-in auto calibration - a tilt-switch function initiates an automatic calibration sequence when the sensor is tilted or turned over
New ball float design - the special fins increase turbulence and keep the sensor clean for typically 2-3 months Maintenance at a minimum Perhaps the greatest benefit obtained with the EVITA OXY sensor is that maintenance is reduced to a minimum: We have perfected what we invented 20 years ago by adding four fins to the meter design further improving the self-cleaning effect. There is no need for grinding stones, fresh water, chemicals etc. When cleaning is necessary after 2-3 months of operation in the aeration tank, all you need to do is wipe the sensor with a cloth. Flexible communication Choosing the right communication protocol for your equipment can be difficult: Which protocol will meet the requirements for the years to come? Danfoss has met this challenge by making the EVITA OXY meter extremely flexible. You can choose the communication module that fits your needs today and change it later when new protocols are developed. Individual modules with different communication protocols can be mounted in the USC 6000 signal converter without any use of tools. The OXY 4100/4150 transmitter communicates with either the USC 5000/6000 signal converter or a PLC via HART communication, using only two wires. Automatic cleaning - after three months of operation in an aeration tank the sensor is still measuring accurately
Automatic calibration The EVITA OXY is extremely easy to use. There is no need for special cables, no complicated diagrams to follow, and calibration is performed automatically. Simply press a button and the system calibrates itself within minutes. Alternatively, just tilt the transmitter: a tilt switch will initiate calibration. There is no need to calibrate the zero point either. The low-cost disposable OXY 1100 sensor can be exchanged before zero-point calibration becomes necessary. The automatic calibration function ensures that EVITA OXY remains as accurate as the day you installed it. Oxygen profile control a money saver There can be large fluctuations in the oxygen concentration anywhere in an aeration tank. By installing several oxygen meters in each tank, the oxygen profile can be evened out, energy can be saved and the process becomes better tuned to fluctuations in the BOD load. The EVITA OXY 4100/4150 transmitter is a cost-saving system for oxygen profile control. You can connect up to 15 transmitters to one PLC using only two wires and the HART communication multidrop mode to transmit oxygen concentrations. Replacement in five minutes All dissolved oxygen meters require regular sensor replacement. Danfoss has made this process so simple that it can be performed in five minutes with no mistakes possible. The EVITA OXY monitors sensor life and alerts you the moment replacement is required. Simply unscrew the collar that holds the sensor in place and insert the new sensor. Spare sensors can be stored indefinitely without diminishing performance. It only starts to operate when connected to the transmitter. ppm ppm 0 0 days days
