Introduction of 26th FLACS User Group (FLUG) Meeting Shanghai, China November 3-5, 2015 Bin Xie Gexcon China
Host:China Classification Society (CCS) Founded in 1956, China Classification Society (CCS) is the only specialized organization of China to provide classification services. CCS aims to provide services for the shipping, shipbuilding, offshore exploitation and related manufacturing industries and marine insurance by furnishing reasonable and reliable classification requirements and providing independent, impartial and integral classification and statutory services to ships and offshore installations, for the promotion and safeguarding of the safety of life and property at sea and for the prevention of pollution to the marine environment. A signing ceremony for the Technology Cooperation Framework Agreement between Gexcon and CCS was held in Beijing City in 2014. First time for global FLUG Meeting in Asia
A record number of delegates attended FLUG The 26th annual FLACS User Group (FLUG) Meeting (Shanghai China) attracted an all-timehigh of 120 delegates. Attendees included experts and scholars from Australia, China, Russia, Indonesia, India, South Korea and Norway under low oil price. Popular meeting and over 100 applicants on the waiting list

Participants We see a lot of activity around FLACS in the Chinese market. I am very impressed by the expertise on FLACS applications that Chinese companies have acquired in a relatively short time. Erik Aadland
Technical Tour Some of the international delegates visited the Waigaoqiao Shipyard owned by SWS and were impressed by the advanced technology applied in Chinese shipyards. Founded in 1999, SWS is a wholly owned subsidiary of China CSSC Holding Ltd., a publicly listed company controlled by China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC). The main business of SWS covers design, construction and repair of marine vessels and offshore products. In the offshore sector, the Company s production line covers FPSO, deep water semi-submersible drilling rigs, Jack-ups, drill ships, PSV, OSV, VLGC and mini LNG. SWS became the first shipyard in China with an annual delivery over 8 million DWT (36 vessels in total), and hence known as the Number One Shipbuilding Company in China.

The 6th World Conference on Safety of Oil and Gas Industry- FLACS Breakout Session The 6th World Conference on Safety of Oil and Gas Industry (WCOGI 2016) will be held in China University of Petroleum, Beijing, China in Oct. 26-29, 2016. The objective of the conference is to provide a global forum for researchers, educators, engineers, and government officials to present and discuss recent applications and experience of FLACS in the safety of oil and gas industry. The conference will cover the safety of oil and gas production in land and ocean, including exploration-exploitation, transportation-storage, refinery and utilization. Gexcon will host the similar conference every year in the future to provide a international communication forum. Welcome the FLACS users all over the world to participate the conference!
Thank you!
