CELLULES STEP II CEP14/15 Communication by power line carrier technology For medium voltage networks
STEP II - System Presentation Developped for networks 120 V 6,600 Volts including French standards 950 V - 3,200-5,500 V & the north american ones 600 V & 4,160 V. STEP II system allows the remote control and monitoring of equipments installed on a MV network from Augier or equivalent. AUGIER is the specialist of the power carrier line technology on MV networks (< 7.2 kv) Airports, motorways, large industrial sites, Existing sites in Europe and Middle East. A range of internal and external coupling modules for transformers on MV networks, in order to avoid the communication attenuation inside the magnetic cores. The system, built around an Augier-Master module and several Augier-Slave modules, allows the remote control of low voltage contactors through a MV network with a permanent power supply. It also transfer a serial communication from PLCs through an integrated RS485 port. The substation Augier-Master module controls all field Augier-Slave modulesfrom logical inputs (contact free of voltage from a photocell, an astronomic clock, ) or from a monitoring system. ADVANTAGES : Reliable, the system built around Augier-Master & Augier- Slave modules benefits of all Augier experiances during several years in road lighting, long distance networks, energy cost savings and airport ground lighting systems. Compact and easy to install, the box (6 units large) has to be installed on a DIN standard rail. Its pluggable connectors help for an easy installation and maintenance. The Bluetooth communication allows the configuration and maintenance actions from the PC without physical connection with the selected Augier-Master or Augier-Slave module. Versatile, its different inputs / outputs can meet the main needs. Communicating, its RS485 serial port can communicate with a remote control system at several kilometers from the monitoring system of the substation. 2
APPLICATIONS : The system built with an Augier-Master module and several Augier-Slave modules can manage the monitoring and the control of electrical distribution installations including the outdoor lighting, alone or mixed with permanent receiver, mainly for sites where maintenance actions are difficult such as highways, tunnels, bridges, city access roads, interchanges and railway tunnels. The STEP II system also provides control activation and disactivation of the lighting or other equipment on MV networks continously energized such as traffic lights, emergency telephones, variable messages signs and other receivers, motors, etc... It provides the control of the switching on and off of the lights through low voltage contactors controlled by the Augier Slave modules. The STEP II system also provides remote control of equipment such as a PLC unit, modules with Input/Output logical contacts (free of voltage), or anyother device with a RS485 port.
