THE SECTORIAL MEETING POINT FOR OFFSHORE WIND AND OCEAN ENERGY 27/02/2017 SPONSORS
A unique forum A historical conference The Basque energy sector has the necessary technology, knowledge and leadership to gain competitive positioning in the international market of marine energy, an emerging market that will experience considerable growth in the following years. Arantza Tapia Regional Minister of Economic Development and Competitiveness of the Basque Government Since 2005, Bilbao has hosted international events on offshore wind and ocean energy. After over a decade of evolution, these events have become what today is the MEW - Marine Energy Week conference. A week focused on debating the evolution and future of marine energy. In the framework of the World Maritime Week
The conference is the ideal setting: for debating, analyzing and establishing the innovative trends that will affect the marine energy industry in the future and the foreseeable business opportunities that will arise in this market. for bringing together high-profile national and international speakers. for acting acts as the international forum in which to showcase the most recent innovations and applications for marine energy, in its different areas. for facilitating the exchange of experiences and knowledge, as well as networking and technology transfer between companies. 27/02/2017 SPONSORS

A week focusing on marine energy BiMEP Day March 28 BiMEP (Biscay Marine Energy Platform) is an open sea test facility located on the Basque coast for research and testing of wave energy converters and floating energy systems under real sea conditions. Bimep Day will provide a complete scientific and industrial perspective of marine energy through the presentation of this research centre and scientific posters on the subject matter. The BiMEP Day will also include a technical visit to the Mutriku and BiMEP facilities (subject to weather conditions). Offshore Wind Conference March 29 The offshore wind market has excellent development and growth prospects for the following years. A consolidated energy source that has placed its focus on the ocean, a field that will offer new opportunities to the companies developing floating technologies, logistics, and energy generators. The Offshore Wind Conference will include technical sessions on offshore wind farms, the recent experiences and future challenges (foundations, electric transmission, installation, O&M, turbines), as well as a specific session on the Basque supply chain. Ocean Energy Conference March 30 The technology that can make the most of the marine environment in the most efficient way and from every point of view - energy, financial, etc. - and that has enough features for a viable marketing exploitation shall determine the future of the sector. In the Conference on ocean energy, leading companies in the energy sector and project promoters will present the breakthroughs related to tidal and wave power. The debate on the future of marine energy will involve technological and policy agents and project promoters with relevant international participation in marine energy projects.
