1. TEST PLANNING 1.1 Scope The aim of the tests is to determine the EUT behavior according to current standard requirements. 1.2 Device(s) criterion of selection A random sample was chosen for the test at the end of the production range. 1.3 Performance criteria for test evaluation The performance criteria evaluation of the results of the Emission test considers the fact that the level of the disturbance output of the device must not exceed the required limit according to the classification of the standard. The device is subject to generated disturbances during the Immunity test according to the procedure requirements of the standard. Its behavior is classified in criteria which are defined by the standard itself and listed below: Performance criterion A : The apparatus/ assembly of apparatus shall continue to operate as intended. No degradation of performance or loss of function is allowed below a performance level specified by the manufacturer, when the apparatus or assembly of apparatus is used as intended. In some cases the performance level may be replaced by a permissible loss of performance. If the minimum performance level or the permissible performance loss is not specified by the manufacturer then either of these may be derived from the product description and documentation and what the user may reasonably expect from the apparatus or assembly of apparatus if used as intended. Performance criterion B: The apparatus/ assembly of apparatus shall continue to operate as intended after the test. No degradation of performance or loss of function is allowed below a performance level specified by the manufacturer, when the apparatus or assembly of apparatus is used as intended. In some cases the performance level may be replaced by a permissible loss of performance. During the test, degradation of performance is however allowed. No change of actual operating state or stored data is allowed. If the minimum performance level or the permissible performance loss is not specified by the manufacturer than either of these may be derived from the product description and documentation and what the user may reasonably expect from the apparatus or assembly of apparatus if used as intended. Performance criterion C: Not used. Performance criterion D: The apparatus/ assembly of apparatus and the associated safety component(s) shall continue to operate as intended. No degradation of performance or loss of function is allowed other than a failure into a safe mode. Date 12/12/2008 Page 3 of 19
