This weathered senior is having a good meal courtesy of my neighbor across the street from my house. This is very common, as facilities that care for seniors, are few in Nicaragua. These people, as well as the homeless in Esteli, have a route that they follow everyday for their meals and coffee or water. They occasionally change their routes but they still receive their food but from different houses and businesses. Social support Nicaraguan style. Douglas Thorson Esteli, Nicaragua

Hogar de Ancianos Club Santa Lucia Esteli, Nicaragua https://youtu.be/xqker-ihyjq A project identified by the local Rotary Club in Esteli Focused on the improvement and rehabilitation of health conditions for the elderly in a seniors home operated by a group of nuns: Bathrooms Kitchen Laundry 52 people live in the home which provides food, accommodation, and limited recreation.

Hogar de Ancianos Club Santa Lucia Esteli, Nicaragua Sta Lucia is the last refuge for many seniors who would otherwise be on the streets, begging for food and a place to sleep. Most of these people were abandoned and left to fend for themselves.
