Introduction / Contents Screens larger than 126 wide are shipped in sections, and also include: Tubular frame extensions (4 pieces) Flat frame extensions (4 pieces) Screens with the optional black backing layer also include: Black Backing Material Additional Pi-Grip clipping extrusion 25cm (10 ) (quantity depends on screen size) All screens include the following tools for assembly: 3mm Allen wrench (1 piece) 6mm Allen wrench (1 piece) Mallet (1 piece) Gloves (1 pair) Fabric cutting tool (1 piece) Short Pi-Grip clipping extrusions (12 pieces) Protective plastic tarp (1 piece) Instruction manual 4

Frame Assembly 1. Prepare your workspace. You will need an area the size of the finished screen plus approx 18 / 50cm on all sides to walk around the screen. A soft surface, such as carpet, is best if possible. Roll out the tarp that is provided with the screen to protect the frame and fabric from foreign matter. 2. If your frame has been delivered in multiple pieces (generally because it is more than 126 wide), assemble the three pieces as shown and tighten the set screws on the back. 3. Lay the two longest sections face-down on the tarp as shown. 5

Frame Assembly 4. Insert the square nuts into the top groove in the frame. Put two nuts into each of the side frame sections. These will provide optional mounting points for legs or other supports; If you plan to use optional mounting systems, refer to their installation guide to know how many nuts you need to put and in which frame section (top or sides, depending of the frame section you want to use to fix your screen. Insert them now as there is no way to add them once the frame is fully assembled. To know how many nuts you need to insert, see the following table. 70 80 90 96 100 110 120 130 140 150 160 170 180 190 200 210 220 230 240 250 260 270 Frame Stiffeners 2 in the top bar and 2 in the bottom bar TMount Legs Mounting Brackets SCMB RWMB1 RWMB2 4 in the top bar and 4 in the bottom bar 2 per bracket in the desired frame section 4 in the left bar and 4 in the right bar 4 in the left bar and 4 in the right bar 2 in the left bar and 2 in the right bar 8 in the top bar and 4 in the bottom bar 2 per bracket in the desired frame section 4 in the left bar, 4 in the right bar and 2 in the top bar 4 in the left bar, 4 in the right bar and 2 in the top bar 2 in the left bar, 2 in the right bar and 2 in each stiffener 2 per bracket in the desired frame section 4 in the left bar, 4 in the right bar and 2 in the top bar 4 in the left bar, 4 in the right bar and 2 in the top bar 5. If your frame is equipped with frame stiffeners but is not shipped in sections (generally frames between 100 and 126 wide), remove the nuts that are on the end of the stiffeners and slide two of them into each of the long frame sections. Insert the flat corner bracket into the uppermost slot of the short frame piece. Do not tighten the set screws yet. Repeat for all four flat corner brackets. 6

Frame Assembly 6. Press the corner tightly together and tighten the set screws. 7. Place another flat corner bracket and attach it using sheetmetal screws. Repeat for all four flat corner brackets. 8. Unroll the projection screen fabric over the frame, projection side down. The projection side is indicated by a sticker in one corner of the fabric. If your frame came with ClearPix1 fabric and Black Backing, unroll the black backing now and place it over the projection screen material. 7

Projection Screen Material 9. If your frame came with frame stiffeners but is not shipped in sections, (generally frames between 100 and 126 wide), attach them to the long frame sections using the M8 x 10 bolt and the square nuts which were inserted in step 4 above. If your frame is shipped in sections (generally frames larger than 126 wide), use the flat frame extensions instead of the nuts. Fold back the fabric to gain access to the square nut. The side of the stiffener with the screw heads visible should be facing the fabric. Position the stiffeners approximately 1/3 of the way along the long frame section, making sure that they will not interfere with your loudspeakers or your wallmounting brackets. Uncut Frame Cut Frame 10. Position the projection screen material using the short (2 / 50mm) pieces of Pi-Grip. Place them in the order shown. Tension the fabric only slightly at this time. If your frame came with ClearPix1 fabric and Black Backing, clip both the projection screen material and the Black Backing together. 8

Projection Screen Material 11. Tension the fabric using the long pieces of Pi-Grip. Begin with the top of the frame. If your frame is equipped with frame stiffeners, cut a piece of Pi- Grip to match the distance between the two frame stiffeners. Remove the top center clip (#1 in step 11 above) and insert the long piece of Pi-Grip in its place. Begin at one end of the Pi-Grip and work your way towards the other end. You should be able to insert it by hand, but you may use the included mallet if necessary. As you insert the Pi-Grip, apply gentle tension on the fabric along the axis of the Pi- Grip that you are inserting. Only insert Pi-Grip along the center section of the frame for now. apply tension along this axis 12. Repeat step 12 with the bottom edge of the frame. As you insert the Pi-Grip, the fabric should be taut but not excessively tight. Continue replacing the short pieces of Pi-Grip by full-length pieces in the order shown. 13. Once you have finished clipping the fabric, verify that the tension is even and sufficient. You may want to lift the frame and inspect the front side. If necessary, retension the fabric by removing and reinserting the Pi-Grip. 1.5 40 mm Once you are satisfied with the tension, trim the excess fabric with the fabric cutting tool. Leave about 1.5 (40mm) of spare fabric outside of the edge of the PI-Grip for future potential retensioning (as a mark, you can use the second groove of the frame). 9

Black Backing 14. IF YOUR SCREEN DOES NOT INCLUDE THE OPTIONAL BLACK BACKING MATERIAL, SKIP TO INSTALLATION SECTION. If your screen includes the optional black backing material, unroll the black backing material over the projection screen fabric. There is no difference between the front and rear sides of the black backing. Slide the ends of the Black Backing under the frame stiffeners if your screen is equipped with them. 15. Fold back the edges of the Black Backing to expose the Projeciton Screen Fabric underneath. Fold back the Projection Screen Material to expose the gray clipping groove. 16. Lay the Black Backing over the gray clipping groove. 17. Position the black backing material using the short (2 / 50mm) pieces of Pi-Grip as in step11. Continue to attach the Black Backing as in steps 12 to 14 using the 25cm (10 ) pieces of Pi-Grip. Place the Pi-Grip in between the screw heads which are in the clipping groove. The Black Backing should be loose, not taut as the Projection Screen Fabric; in fact, overtensioning the Black Backing can lead to frame deformation. 10

Installation CLASSIC FIXED SCREEN S MOUNTING SYSTEM Install a screw in the wall where you want your screen to be attached. Screw the mounting bracket into one of the square nuts you put into the top groove in the frame (step4). Install the bracket on the screw that is fixed to the wall. 0.3" 7mm 0.5" 13mm 1.7" 43mm 0.3" 7mm 1.5" 38mm 1.5" 38mm SUPREME FIXED SCREEN S MOUNTING SYSTEM CLASSIC FIXED SCREEN S OPTIONAL FLUSH MOUNT SYSTEM Screw the four mounting brackets to the wall. They can be anywhere along the top and bottom of the frame, but should not interfere with the frame stiffeners. The screws for the lower brackets should be 45mm / 1.75 above the desired position of the lower edge of the frame. The screws for the upper brackets should be 35mm / 1.4 below the desired position of the upper edge of the frame. (The distance between the upper and lower screws should be equal to the overall height of the frame minus 80mm / 3.1.) Screw the bottom brackets firmly to the wall with the screw at the top end of the slot. The upper brackets should be loosely screwed to the wall with just enough play for the screw to slide in the slot. Clip the frame to the brackets. Rest the bottom edge of the frame on the lip which protrudes from the bracket and push towards the wall to engage the plastic clip in the groove on the frame. Press the upper edge of the frame against the mounting brackets. As the upper mounting brackets are free to slide, you can adjust their position so that the plastic clip engages properly in the clipping groove. 11

Screen Care Your cinema-quality viewing surface is delicate. Special attention to these instructions should be followed when cleaning. Cleaning your ClearPix Fixed Screen surface NEVER attempt to use solvents, chemicals or abrasive cleaners on the screen. A soft cloth or brush may be used to lightly whisk away any loose dirt or particles. Do not use a sharp instrument to remove any particles. Softly brush from the center to the edges. An upholstery brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner may be used, but only if it is perfectly clean. We encourage you to keep your screen clean. Avoid getting any foreign materials on it, as cleaning it may prove very difficult or even impossible (paint, ink, etc.). Never paint in the vicinity of the screen unless the fabric is completely protected. Cleaning your ClearPix Fixed Screen frame Use a lint brush to remove any dust from the frame.
