Woody Bike Rack Assembly NOTE: It is recommended that you plan for installing your Woody Bike Rack directly below a ceiling joist or ceiling damage may occur. There is also a risk of the bike rack of coming loose and falling causing possible damage or injury. If you do not know how to locate a ceiling joist consult a professional before proceeding. 1) Attach the 4 Foam Pads (H) to the Top Plate (B). Then using one short Wood Screw (I), Attach the Top Plate (B) to the 6 Top Support (C). Figure 1 2) Using 2 short Threaded Rods (K) and 4 Cap Nuts (G), sandwich the Top Support (C) between the two Extension Sliders (D) and tighten with the 2 included Hex Wrenches (F). Figure 1 NOTE: It may be easier to start the Cap Nuts onto one side of the Threaded Rods first before assembling. Figure 1 NOTE: The Top Supports are different from one end to the other. The ends will be flush with the Top Plate when properly assembled. Figure 2 3) Thread the 2 Adjustable Feet (J) into the threaded inserts of the bottom supports (P) leaving approximately 1/2 of thread showing. Figure 2 4) Using 2 Long Threaded Rods (K) and 4 Cap Nuts (G), sandwich the 2 bottom supports/feet assemblies between the 3 Main Frame pieces (N). The Main Frame pieces (N) are the longest pieces in the kit. Tighten the Cap Nuts (G) with the included Hex Wrenches (F). Figure 2??? NOTE: The Main Frames are different from one end to the other. The ends will be flush with the bottom supports when properly assembled. 5) Measure the height of your ceiling from the floor where your Woody Bike Rack will be installed. Figure 3 Figure 3 (3)
Woody Bike Rack Assembly ~ Cont. 6) Insert the Extension Slider and Top Plate assembly into the Main Frame assembly, adjusting the overall length from the top of the Top Plate to the bottom of the Adjustable Feet to within 1 of the height measured in Step 5. See Figure 4 Figure 4 Figure 5 7) Secure the Extension Slider (D) to the Main Frame (N) using the 2 remaining long Threaded Rods (K) and the 4 remaining Cap Nuts (G), ensuring that one is placed at the very end of the Main Frame near the top, and the other near the bottom where the Extension Slider ends. Having the Threaded Rods as far apart as possible will provide the most stable mounting configuration possible. Tighten the Cap Nuts using the appropriate provided Hex Wrench (E). 8) Caution: You may wish to seek help in standing the unit up and securing it in place. Find the location where you are going to secure your Woody Bike Rack. With the Adjustable feed downward, stand the entire assembly on the Bottom Plate (Q). With the top of the stand in place, use an 8mm wrench (not included) to adjust the feet downward until the stand is secure between the floor and the ceiling. (4) Figure 6
Woody Bike Rack Assembly ~ Cont. Figure 7 9) You have two sets of arms, 2 Right (M) and 2 Left (O) to hold 2 bikes. Determine the desired heights for each bike. Where the top of the frame of each bike meets the assembly put a RH Arm (M) and LH Arm (O) and secure to the assembly with 2 Hexhead Screws (L) for each arm. If one set of arms is in the area where the Extension Slider is NOT, use two 4 Spacers (E) to strengthen the assembly. Tighten screws with a Hex Wrench (F). See Figure 7 NOTE: It may be necessary to force the holes in the arms together just a bit so that the holes in the arms match up with the holes in the Main Frame, especially where the 4 Inch Spaces are to be located (Figure 8). Figure 8 10) Included for your convenience are two Hook & Loop Fasteners (A). Use these to secure the front wheel by wrapping the fasteners though the front wheel and around the frame. Remove before riding the bicycle. See Figure 9 NOTE: Before every use ensure that the rack is still secure or in need of adjustment. (5) Figure 9
