Treasure Locator 3000 ProX3 Instruction Manual TREASURE LOCATOR 3000 prox3 INSTRUCTION MANUAL Search for yesterday s treasures... With the technology of tomorrow

Introduction The Treasure Locator 3000 prox3 is a digital instrument based on a microprocessor, working at 10MHz, very flexible in its use due to the larger quantity of operational features. The Treasure Locator 3000 prox3 is constructed as a precise and robust instrument. Controls The controls of the Treasure Locator 3000 ProX3 are made up of information zones and command zones. In the upper part, y ou will find information relative to the state of the batery. A green LED indicates a battery with total charge. A red LED indicates a battery with low charge. The unit will functions correctly while the green light is on or whilst both the green and red light are on but when the red light is on by itself, the unit will be about to automatically turn off or will do so before complete battery discharge has ocurred. The duration of the batteries is of approximately 3 hours of continuous use. We recommend the use of the economizer of batteries EcoBat which we will explain later. We recommend only the use of alkaline batteries for the perfect use of your Locator. The second sector of the upper part is Signal Intensity which indicates the intensity of the signal that the Locator is receiving. The lowest signal is indicated towards the left as Low and the highr the intensity, towards the right High. A signal of higher intensity indicates a possible find. On the lower part of the unit, you ll find 3 command & information zones. Basically you will see 3 buttons and 7 lights. The buttons are square and, individually, have two functions each. The function indicated in yellow is activated by pressing the button. The function indicated in green is activated by pressing the Power button in conjunction with the green button. This is also explained later. The round Power button has 4 functions: On, Off, Reset and Activation of the second function of other buttons. The first sector of the lower Power part contains a round green button and a red light. To turn on the Locator, press the button briefly and the unit will turn on when you release. The red light will turn on and so will the first light on the other two sections: Elements & Miles. Hold 2s to RESET: Holding down the button for aproximately 2 seconds, you will hear 2 beeps which indicate that the locator has been reset. You use this function to reset the locator and erase the last signal that was saved in the memory. The second section of the lower part ELEMENT, contains a button with 3 lights. Pressing the button once, you select the element on which you d like to conduct a searcg. Pressing the button, advance from left to right in the selection of the element and the corresponding LED will turn on. This way, the microprocessor selects between the 3 search positions: gold, silver and diamonds, activating the corresponding filter. The third section of the lower part MILES, contains one button and 3 lights. Pressing the button once, select the approximate distance for your search area. Pressing the button, advance from left to right in the distance selection in miles and the corresponding LED will light up. The microprocessor selects between 3 search positions. The marks indicated make reference to the distance between 0 and the mark

From 0 to 0,3 miles (0 up to 500 metres) Used to search in small areas, in a house or small close objects. From 0 to 0,6 miles (0 up to 1 kilometre) Used to search for both close object or further ones at a larger distance. More sensitive than the previous option to larger objects that are close. Not recommended for use inside a house. From 0 to 1,2 miles (0 up to 2 kilómeters) This is the strongest position as it s recommended for large objects at long distances. This doesn t mean though that is the best position for the search of close objects. Apart from the normal functions, the Treasure Locator 3000 prox3, has additional functions. The HOLD, function is activated using two buttons: 1. Press the Power button and don t release it. 2. Press the Hold button. You will hear 2 beeps. 3. Release both buttons. (It isn t necessary to let go of them at the same time or in any particular sequence. Just release) This functions allows you to have a reference of very rapid wave peaks to be shown on the LEDS, turning one or two LEDS on in the area that the peak was produced. Then, slowly they go down giving you the opportunity to visualize it. To deactivate this function, follow the same procedure that you used to activate. The function 7s AutoScan. This function is used with the purpose of auto-calibration of the Locator according to the surrounding electromagnetic waves. The function is activated using two buttons: 1. Press the Power button and don t release it. 2. Press the Autoscan button. You will hear 2 beeps. 3. Release both buttons. (It isn t necessary to let go of them at the same time or in any particular sequence. Just release) All LEDS will turn off and for approximately 7 seconds, the Power LED will blink intermittently. Taking the Locator by the handle, move it in a circular motion doing sweeps of the area surrounding you, if this is where you pretend to do your search. Once the process is completed, you will hear 3 beeps but you must still move the locator fromone side to the other or, holding the locator by the handle, rotate it above your head in a circular motion until it has unblocked and returns to the tac, tac, tac sound. This will occur after a beep which will indicate that the locator is ready to commence the search. Once the process is finished, the system will activate with the same configuration that it had at the time of the AutoScan. Example: if it was on GOLD and 2km, once the process is finised, it will once again be on GOLD, 2 kms. NOTE: If the locator doesn t return to tac, tac, tac, you must turn off the Locator and turn it back on again without doing AutoScam because if it hadn t returned to tac, tac, tac, the AutoScan had ended automatically after 3 beeps. The EcoBat, function puts the Locator on Battery Economizer mode. We advise the use of this function so that your batteries can last up to 10 hours of continuous use. This functions is activated using 2 buttons: 1. Press the Element button and don t release it. 2. Press the MILES button. You will hear 2 beeps. 3. Release both buttons. Suelte los dos botones. (It isn t necessary to let go of them at the same time or in any particular sequence. Just release) In this mode of operation, the following changes occur: The speaker is deactivated The LED display is turned off and remains in use with one or two LEDS of greater signal value. If the HOLD function is activated, it remains active. To go out of EcoBat mode, use the same procedure that was used to activate. To turn of the unit, press and release the Power button.

Operación 1. Turn on the Locator using the Power button. You will hear a background noise (tac, tac, tac) and observe that the LEDs that indicate the intensity of the signal will light up and maintain themselves on the left hand side. This noise will increment and the LEDS that indicate the intensity of the signal will run from left to right when your Locator has found something. Note: There are times where you will notice an increment in the sound and the LEDs will run towards the right when you are close to an electric unit in use such as a radio, computer, etc. 2. Proceed to perform the 7s AutoScan. Remember that this function is absolutely necessary and is performed by pressing the Power button and 7s AutoScan button as explained before in this instruction manual. Only once the AutoScan has been finalized, can you proceed to points 3 and 4. 3. Press the ELEMENT, button to the element position you want to find: gold, silver or diamonds. 4. Press the MILES button (distance selector) to the distance you wish to start the search. Now your Treasure Locator is ready for the search. Don t forget your Treasure Locator has other important functions such as: The EcoBat, function which, as explained before, lets you extend the life of battery use. The HOLD, function which allows you to have a reference between two fast moving peaks. Though these two functions we mentioned are important, they aren t necessary for the use of the Treasure Locator. There is also Hold 2s to RESET function which should be used everytime we want the locator to erase from its memory the last find that it made. It can also be used, for example, if you have an electric artefact close by and there was an increment in the sound and the LEDs ran towards the right. Important Note: Remember that the Treasure Locator is a powerful transmitor/receptor and on some occassions the unit can receive radio waves. We also recommend that when you have your hand on the handle, the upper part of your hand must not touch the lower part of the metal box. For this reason we recommend that the unit not be used close to high voltage cables or on stormy days. Correct position of search Due to the balance and motion (360º) sensitivity of the Treasure Locator, posture is very important. You must stand with your shoulders back, hold firmly the handle of the Treasure Locator but not so strongly that your hand will tire and thus the locator will tremble. Your elbow should be at a comfortable angle just above your waist. The balance of the locator is correct when the antenna is parallel to the floor. You may use your hands to stabilize the locator and that way help you achieve the correct balance before your sweep. As with any locator, practice is important. To achieve the best results, we recommend that you practice the correct position as much as possible until you feel confident that your sweeping motion is even and balanced. The Treasure Locator is a super-sensitive locator due to the large distance that it takes the signals. The balance requires precision and therefore you must practice until you achieve the best results from your Treasure Locator. Important tips 1 Hold the Treasure Locator at an angle slightly towards the bottom or slightly towards the top. 2 Hold the handle from the upper part. Maintaining your view on the tip of the antenna, begin an even sweep from left to right or vice-versa maintaining your balance. The more you use the Locator, the easier it will be to maintain this important balance. If you have a garden planted with coins, or you have buried gold or silver objects that have been there aproximately 10 years, you have the perfect practice site. Take the Treasure Locator and try different areas and positions.

Practice Practice - Practice There are two recommended search options. The first and most popular options is the inductive search. This search consists in the operator being taken directly towards the object by the locator. This method is generally used when the operator has a tip about possible treasure being buried and this tip is considered serious and true by the operator. You proceed in the following manner: 1. Position yourself at a distance of no less than 500m from the possible location of the treasure. 2. Start to walk in the direction of this area and every 10 metres, turn left or right. This way you will be able to see if you receive a hook. A hook is a strong jolt of movement from the antenna towards a direction accompanied by an increase or decrease of the volume being emited and the LED indicators moving towards the red area. If you don t receive a hook, contunue walking in the same direction repeating this procedure until you do. If you never receive a hook, there may not be a treasure at all. 3. If you receive a hook, continue in the same direction which may actually be the direction in which you were going from the start. If you receive a hook y any direction, you should also try now again to change your direction to verify that you are continuing to receive the signal in the direction you were going. This is a very important point for you not to lose your direction. If at some moment the antenna turns 180 pointing towards yourself, it is highly possible you have passed the treasure. If this is the case, turn back and find the last signal you received. The treasure will be between this last signal and the point where the antenna turned180. The second option through cross marking is used more than anything for the exploration of areas in which the search for treasure is just a lucky search. You should proceed in the following manner: 1. Establish a starting point at an intersection in one corner of the area or property that you will search. Use the sweeping technique that you have practiced. Sweep from right to left or vice-versa covering at least 90º. Repeat this procedure various times until you are sure there is no doubt. 2. A strong jolt of movement acommpanied by the increase or decrease in the volume and the LED indicators towards the red area, indicates the presence of an object. If you don t receive a signal, walk towards the right, aproximately 25 feet and do another sweep but this time one of 180º until you reach the end. This squaring method of a large area can be done on any property by any means. 3. To re-check a large area, we recommend the following: from the starting point, establish a diagonal which passes through at least half of the area. Following this diagonal line, stop every 75 to 100 feet and sweep in 180º arches. Move to the contrary position and repeat this procedure. Now you have covered 360º. Repeat this technique until the whole area or property has been covered.

Locating an Object A strong jolt of movement acommpanied by the increase or decrease in the volume and the LED indicators towards the red area, generally indicates a large object at an unkown distance or a small object at a short distance. To determine the general position of the object, we recommend you sweep the area from three different positions. Let s say you had a jolt of movement accompanied by a volume change and the LED indicators move towards the red zone, the antenna has hooked an object. You can take a mark, (point towards and non moving object with your antenna) as a reference point. A tree or a rock is an example of a mark. Move to one side some 15 feet and sweep the area again. The antenna should hook the object somewhere along the line from the first hook. Remember where, along the first line, the second line intercepts. Repeat the procedure. If you moved to your right before, move to your right again. Take a note again and check where the antenna hooks with the jolted movement in the intersection of the other teo. The object should be very close to where these three lines intercept. This method works vert well with a strong signal but lets imagine you are receiving weak signal and from everywhere. This would indicate that small objects are scattered around. If this were the case, reduce the search area as much as possible using various readings and at least one reading from an oblong angle. Then, sweep the area with a good metal detector.

Objects found at large distances If after receiving a jolt of movement with a change in volume and the led indicators moving towards the red are, you have established an imaginary line towards an inert object, taken a second reading but the lines don t intercept, the object is definitely located at a large distance. Having gone past the inert object which is your reference point, walk along the imaginary line some 15 to 20 feet and then move towards the left or right and take another reading. Continue this procedure until you have a second hook that intercepts with the first hook line. Once this has been accomplished, take a third (or more) reading until you locate the position of the object.

Please follow the instructions below to put together your Treasure Locator 3000 Prox3. IMPORTANT NOTE: The Treasure Locator only works with 9volt Alkaline Batteries.
