Product Specification Product Description The Kestrel mm is designed for residential and commercial use. The suite of both externally and internally beaded profiles will allow construction of the most common types of top and side hung open-out vents, tilt before turn and open in bottom or side hung vents and fixed lights as individual or composite window styles.the system can be externally (open out casement vents) beaded or internally (TBT vents and casement vents with adapter used) beaded. The system is designed generally in accordance with BS 4873: 2004 and uses 24mm PA66 GF25 polymide thermal break. Polyamide thermal break allows for single or dual colour options Please note dual colour choice will incurr additional cost surcharges Frame profiles are typically mm deep, odd leg and curtain wall outer frames are also available. Square or bevel beads are standard. A range of cill sections, corner posts and couplers compliment the range. Materials: Aluminium profiles are extruded from alloy /63 T6 complying with the recommendations of BS EN 12020-2:2008 Finishes: Mill finish Etched and anodised to BS 3987: 1991 (01.06.2007) - Silver AA25 or colours on request. Polyester Powder coat paint to BS EN 12206-1:2004. See separate list for standard colour range available. 12.01.01 Sheet 1 01.10.10

Product Specification Construction: Frame joints are mitre cut, sealed and jointed using aluminium EN1706 AC-46100D die cast mechanical corner cleats and aluminium UNI 76 die cast mechanical corner chevrons. Alternatively, extruded aluminium corner crimping cleats can be used. Mullions and transoms are square cut, shouldered and secured either by concealed aluminium extruded cruciform cleats, or by driving stainless steel self tapping screws into integral extruded screw ports. Die cast EN1706 AC-46100D mechanical 'T' joint locking pieces are also used to align and grip the mullion or transom (wide) face. Hardware: The nominal 13.5mm hardware cavity accepts most proprietary window fittings i.e. butt hinges, friction hinges, locking cockspur handles, bi-part or standard espagnolette locking, folding openers, and remote cable winding gear and trickle vents. Glass, Glazing and Infill Panels: The system is designed to accept 18mm, 24mm or 28mm thick (DG) IGU's or infill panels. Glazing to be carried out in strict accordance with BS 6262 Performance: Thermal Windows constructed with thermally broken profiles meet current Building Regulation Approved Document (AD) L1A, L1B/L2A, L2B requirements using a range of IGU's (Insulating Glass Units) Standard window styles in accordance with GGF data sheet 2.2 and BR443 can be used to demonstrate compliance to Building Regulations thermal performance requirement, or NON domestic window styles can be calculated on an individual basis to confirm their thermal performance. SAP 2009 Table 6e can also be used in the absence of test data or calculated values. Performance: Weather A correctly fabricated and installed window will achieve the following ratings in accordance with BS 6375-1: 2009 Test Classifications; 0pa Air Permeability to BS EN 14351 0pa Water ingress to BS EN 14351 2000pa Wind resistance to BS EN 14351 3000pa Safety requirement to BS EN 14351 12.01.01 Sheet 2 01.10.10

Thermal Performance Therm Software images mm window - Typical outer frame detail Therm Version 5.2.14 outer frame KAS669 vent frame and KAS636 28mm bevel bead The image above shows a typical outer frame and open out casement vent arrangement with a 28mm IGU (insulating glass unit) with a temperature range of 0 C externally (the left hand side) and 20 C internally (the right hand side). The colour legend shows the temperature fluctuations across the construction, the yellow and orange shading giving a nominal internal temperature of 12 C on the face of the vent and 13.3 C on the face of the outer frame. The low frame and edge U-value figures and high internal frame temperatures provide for excellent thermal performance when combined with a correctly specified IGU or non vision panel, and greatly reduced condensation risk to the internal frame parts. Please refer to Limited to clarify requirements and options on compliance to current Building Regulations. The window system has been independently modelled and simulated by a BFRC certified simulator to determine the expected WER classification for the standard domestic window type and size. WER ratings only apply to this one style of window for generalised comparison purposes only. WER simulations cannot be done on any other style or size of window. There is NO WER scheme for commercial window projects. Our calculations assume the use of an EdgeTech Tri-seal warm edge double glazed unit. Other IGU warm edge spacer bar types are available substitutions of complete IGU specifications (including glass types) in WER classifications may be possible to allow flexibility in sourcing your IGU supplier please check. 12.01.01 Sheet 3 01.10.10
