ABIHPEC s work is an extension of national character together with the exerted activities by SIPATESP (Union for the Industry of Perfumes & Toiletries in São Paulo State), created on May 15th, 1941. The association s mission is to support, develop, encourage and create actions and instruments that contribute for the CT&F progress in Brazil. Its goal is to lead the industries located in Brazil to work in a mature way, with self regulations and credibility. Foreign trade The unit s goal is to contribute towards increased competition in the CT&F Brazilian Industry through internationalization and to increase foreign trade flow of the companies from this sector. Among the main activities in this area, we highlight the interest of the sector s representation in national and international forums, determining a clear Brazilian positioning in the global market, by reducing the obstacles to the world trade of the CT&F sector. These activities include tax relief for the production chain, reducing import taxes on the sector s ingredients and inputs and also improving the sector s representation, forwarding the conduction of international agreements. The area is still responsible for the planning and management of the Internationalization Project of the CT&F Brazilian Industries, Beautycare Brazil. Communication and Marketing Manages the positive image of the industry in Brazil and in the world through the integrated work of communication and marketing. It looks for the strengthening of the industries before journalists, entrepreneurs, partners, governments, suppliers and clients, both in Brazil and abroad. It organizes events and contributes for the strengthening of the entities, as well as the existing projects.

It follows-up, in São Paulo, the assets of the labor negotiations of the sector. Through working groups, the executives discuss themes spanning from the punctual situation of each company to macro topics, like legislation and updates on labor themes presented by invited specialists. Topics that promote the evolution of the products and processes in the sector are coordinated by a specific entity connected to the association. Allied to updating tasks and the disclosure of information, we have ITEHPEC (Institute of Technology and Studies of Personal Hygiene, Perfumery and Cosmetics). This entity has as a goal to meet the sector s demand in issues such as innovation and technology, stimulating, fomenting and promoting research, development and technological innovative activities. Some of the Institute s activities are professional qualification programs and the Technological Round, focusing on the most relevant subjects of the area, such as nanotechnology, packaging and others which are prioritized for the associates with differentiated values regarding the application process and preference of the vacancies.
