ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS Thank you for purchasing Forever Redwood patio furniture. Forever Redwood is built by Old Growth Again Restoration Forestry (OGA). OGA is dedicated to restoration forestry. Sales of patio furniture finance our restoration work in California redwood forestlands. Tools required: ½-inch ratchet and a mallet or small hammer. Unpack your swing and make sure you have all the parts. The parts that go together have the same numbers written next to the predrilled holes they attach to. Align the parts with the numbers as shown for ease of reference. Step 1. Attach the posts to swing base with carriage bolts, washers and nuts. On the sides of the bases you ll find a number written next to a set of predrilled holes. Match this number to the number written next to the predrilled holes. Tap in the carriage bolts all the way into the wood so that it is set into the wood. Then insert the washer and nut and tighten lightly with a ½- inch ratchet. The bolts should tap into their holes. If you have to force a bolt, the piece is probably on the wrong side, is not aligned properly or is turned around. Do not over tighten or you ll crush the redwood and weaken the swing s strength. Repeat this step to attach the other side 3/8 x 7 3/8 x 8
Step 2. Attach the Roof support to posts with carriage bolts (5/16 x 3 ½ ) washers and nuts. On the edges of the seat you ll find a number written next to a set of predrilled holes. Tap the bolt all the way into the wood to set it, then add a washer and nut and lightly tighten. Repeat this step to attach the other side Step 3. Attach the diagonal knee braces to Roof support with carriage bolts (3/8 x 7 ) washers and nuts. On the edges of the seat you ll find a number written next to a set of predrilled holes. Tap the bolt all the way into the wood to set it, then add a washer and nut and lightly tighten. Repeat this step to attach the other side
Step 4. Attach the lateral support to roof support with carriage bolt (3/8 x 6 ) washer and nut. On the edges of the seat you ll find a number written next to a set of predrilled holes. Tap the bolt all the way into the wood to set it, then add a washer and nut and lightly tighten. Repeat this step to attach the other side Step 5. Attach the lateral support to roof section with carriage bolt (3/8 x 4 ) washer and nut. On the edges of the seat you ll find a number written next to a set of predrilled holes. Tap the bolt all the way into the wood to set it, then add a washer and nut and lightly tighten. Repeat this step to attach the other side and with the other section.
Step 6. Attach the roof sections to the diagonal knee braces with deck screws (3 x #8). Repeat this step to attach the other side and with the other section. Step 7. Attach the slat to roof sections with four deck screws (2 ½ x #8). Repeat this step to attach the other side.
Step 8. Attach the armrest to seat and backrest with carriage bolts washers and nuts. On the edges of the seat you ll find a number written next to a set of predrilled holes. Tap the bolt all the way into the wood to set it, then add a washer and nut and lightly tighten. Repeat this step to attach the other side and with the other section. Eye bolt 3/8 x 4 Carriage bolt 5/16 x 3 ½ Step 9. The chain that hangs the swing is one piece for each side. It is adjustable in 2 ways. You can shorten or lengthen the overall height of the swing at the frame or at the eyebolts on the swing seat to get the swing to your preferred height.
Step 10. Once you have the swing adjusted just the way you want it, attach the springs provided. The springs are attached to the hangers. Shorten the chain to account for the springs. The springs give the swing a bit of give when you sit in it. This makes the swing s movement softer and more enjoyable (and playful!). Thank you. If you have any questions, please call or email us.
