M_tho^ The method for the making and finishing off of both bags is exactly the same. 1. All the Side Pieces and Centre Pieces get done in this way. Materials: Cut-Away Stabilizer Poly-cotton or fabric of your choice Small piece Fleece for cat's face pretty buttons Magic Tape/Pins Small piece WSS to put over cat's face before embroidering 2 Wobbly Eyes and a little Craft Glue to stick on the cat's eyes Marathon Threads Hoop 1 layer of Cut-away stabilizer and stitch the

Cut a piece of thin batting the same size as the outline and cut a piece of fabric a little larger so that it can be pinned in place onto the stabilizer. Put pins in place away from the stitching area. 3. Stitch outline of the design onto the fabric.

No title 7 / 18 Hoop 1 layer of stabiizer as before. Stitch the outline of the design onto the stabilizer. Cut a piece of batting and a piece of fabric and pin in place and stitch by machine. Now stitch the background pattern. Next do the outline of the cat's face.

No title 8 / 18 Trim the fabric back to the stitching line Cut a piece of Fleece a little larger than the cat's face and stitch in place. Hold in place with pins or Magic Tape.

No title 9 / 18 Trim the fleece

No title 10 / 18 Stitch the outlines of the cat's inner ears. Cut a piece of thin pink fabric. Pin in place and stitch. Then trim.

No title 11 / 18

No title 12 / 18 Put a piece of Water-soluble stablizer over the cat's face and stitch the nose and whiskers. This stops the stitches from sinking into the fleece. The placement for the wobbly eyes are marked with circles.

No title 13 / 18 Turn the hoop over. Cut a piece of lining. Pin in place. Stitch and then trim back to the stitching line Complete the edging. A Buttonhole is stitched into the Flap at the end. Cut out the flap and put one side until needed when assembling the bag. Ascot Tote Hoop as before. Use batting and fabric as before.

No title 14 / 18 Stitch out the decorative stitch. I used black thread on white fabric to complement my bag. Turn the hoop over. Cut lining. Pin in place and stitch. Now trim and then complete. Turn the hoop over. Cut lining. Pin in place and stitch. Now trim and then complete the stitching. A Buttonhole is stitched into the Flap. Cut out and put one side until needed.

No title 15 / 18 Strap Cut fabric according to length that you require. Make it double width so that you can fold it lengthwise. Overlock or zig-zag right round. Fold zig-zag edge in on wrong side and stitch down. Fold strap in half lengthwise and stitch edges together on right side. Match your thread to your fabric. Assembly of Bags Stitch bag pieces together on sewing machine using a zig-zag stitch. Lie the seams flat next to each other and zig-zag together.

No title 16 / 18 The Flap is attached to the top of the centre back panel

No title 17 / 18 When all the pieces are stitched together turn the bag wrong side out. Fold the bottom corners flat and stitch straight across using a straight stitch.
