Energy Measurement and Management MT851... MD851... Mutifunction meters with oad profie

The MT851 / MD851 eectronic mutifunction eectricity meters are designed for metering of active energy in two directions, reactive energy in four quadrants, apparent energy, active and reactive demand as we as registration of oad profie and eectric energy quaity parameters in poyphase 3-wire networs (MT851 / MD851) and 4- wire networs (MT851) at industria customers and eectric utiities. The meters can be connected directy, via CT or via CT and VT. They compy with the IEC 61036 (cass 2 or 1) or IEC 60687 (cass 0.5S) standard for active energy and IEC 61268 standard for reactive energy (cass 3 or 2) as we as VDEW Requirements. The meters are manufactured in compiance with the ISO 9001 standard. Metering system The metering system is 3-eement (MT851), or 2-eement (MD851) with artificia connection empoyed at a varh-meter. The metering eement is based on Israemeco SPS (Smart Power Sensor) technoogy. The Haeffect sensor, anaogue and digita circuits are integrated in a singe siicon crysta. The metering eements are shieded against externa magnetic fieds and are protected against overvotages and high frequency disturbances. Such a design of the metering eement assures exceent and ong-term stabe metering feature, negigibe effect of infuence quantities and high meter reiabiity. Therefore, the meters do not require any caibration over their entire ife span. Meter housing The meter housing is made of sefextinguishing poycarbonate and can be recyced at the end of the meter ife. It assures doube insuation and IP 53 protection eve against dust and water penetration. Overa and fixing dimensions compy with the DIN 43857 standard. Meter design Each meter is a unique design and is made according to a customer s specification. This is performed by a powerfu microcomputer, interna rea-time coc, CD, ED, communication interfaces and 3 pushbuttons as we as contro inputs, contro and puse outputs according to a customer s specification. MT851 RTC = ED CD CPU (Memory 1 / Memory 2 oad profie / og boo) O CS RS232 Microcomputer The microcomputer enabes a functions specified by a customer, stores metering data and parameters in a non-voatie memory, stores metering data of previous biing periods (up to 50 ast biing periods), cacuates some quantities, enabes oad profie and timeof-use registration, definition of caendar and hoidays, compensates errors of instrument transformers, ogs events that have occurred, drives the CD, enabes some monitoring and contro functions. The A/D converter enabes metering of ine votages and harmonics (ony MT851). The microcomputer is supervised by a watchdog circuitry. Rea-time coc The interna rea-time coc is either synchronised with 50 Hz networ frequency or is controed with a 32 Hz quartz crysta osciator. The RTC that is controed with a quartz crysta osciator compies with the IEC 61038 standard. It is baced up with a super capacitor or a ibattery and a super capacitor. The super capacitor permits 250-hour operation reserve; the i-battery permits 2-year operation reserve. The microcomputer ogs eapsed time of the RTC operated on the ibattery. The RTC enabes metering periods for demand and oad profie, definition of tariff change-over schedues, seasons registration, automatic change-over from standard time to day-ight saving period and vice versa, and registration of day, date, hour and minute (time stamp) when events have occurred. CD The MT851 and MD851 meters are equipped with an CD specified by VDEW Recommendation. The CD operates in two modes: basic and extended data ist dispay. The meter user programs which data wi be dispayed in each of data dispay modes, data format and resoution as we as time of data being dispayed. In case of transformer rated meters a user can program the metering data to be dispayed as primary, semi-primary or secondary vaue. Dispayed data is identified by EDIS identification codes (DIN 43863-3). Besides metering data the CD dispays events that have occurred, the meter status and aarms as we. Indicators ED indicators are used for testing and indication of Wh- and varhmeter operation. Meter constants depend on maximum current and votage. Communication interfaces The meters are aways equipped with an infrared optica port (IEC 61107) for meter programming and data down-oading. A 20 ma CS interface (DIN 66348), RS 232 and RS 485 interfaces are buit into the meters on request. The meter can be equipped with a CS interface and either RS232 or RS 485 interface. The RS232 interface can be used for an externa standard PSTN, ISDN or GSM modem. At meter programming and data down-oading the IEC 61107, Mode C protoco with a password is used. SPS SPS SPS RS485 Inputs Outputs BOC DIAGRAM

Pushbuttons The meters are equipped with 3 pushbuttons. The Data Scro pushbutton is aways accessibe and is used for the extended data dispay mode. The Reset pushbutton can be oced with a padoc and is used for manua biing reset of the meter or together with the Data Scro pushbutton for programming the meter in a fied as we as setting some meter parameters. The Param pushbutton is paced under the meter cover and is used for setting the meter parameters in a worshop. Inputs and outputs The MT851 and MD851 meters can be equipped with up to 34 auxiiary terminas with which up to 10 inputs and 16 outputs can be reaised. A customer can define in his order which inputs and outputs shoud be buit-in. The foowing inputs are avaiabe: tariff change-over inputs for energy and demand, for the RTC synchronisation, for timing demand period for biing reset and for disabing demand registration. The inputs are controed with ine-to-neutra votage. The meters are equipped with OPTOMOS reay outputs. The foowing outputs are avaiabe: puse outputs for Wh- and varh-meter, output for changing-over tariff for energy and/or demand of an externa meter, for starting demand period, for energy fow direction indication, for indication of disabed demand measurement, for 3-eve contro of demand, for indication of biing reset, different aarms and the meter status (e.g. ine faiure, ine votage out of imits, energy registered in a particuar quadrant, oad profie registration, etc.). oad imiter The meters can be equipped with auxiiary terminas for off/on switching or imiting the oad. In the first case the microcomputer switches off the oad when cacuates that the permitted demand has been aready achieved in a current demand period. At the end of demand period the microcomputer switches on the oad. In the second case the microcomputer cacuates the demand trend over the whoe demand period and off/on switches parts of the oad so that at the end of the demand period the imit demand is not exceeded. Anti-fraud protection The meters are protected against fraud in the foowing ways: meter and termina covers are seaed separatey, the Reset pushbutton can be oced with a padoc, the Param pushbutton is under the meter cover, execution of some commands and access to some registers are protected with passwords and code agorithms. A parameter modifications that affect the metered vaues are recorded in the og-boo. A metering data are stored in a non-voatie memory at two ocations as an origina and its copy. Time-of-use registration The meters enabe registration of energy and demand in different tariff changing-over schedues. The meters enabe registration in 8 tariffs if each quantity has its own tariff changing-over schedue, otherwise 24 tariff registers are avaiabe. Times of changing-over tariffs are set with hour and minute with resoution 1 minute. It is possibe to set up to 32 periods over a day in which one or more tariffs are vaid. Up to 64 different daiy tariffchange over schedues can be programmed. There are 8 different day types (7 days + a hoiday) and it is possibe to define up to 64 weey tariff changing ower schedue. Up to 64 seasons a year defined by weey tariff changing-over schedue that is vaid in a particuar season can be programmed. Besides the current tariff program up to three so caed seeping tariff programs can be programmed and are activated on programmed dates. It is possibe to define up to 330 hoidays a year, incuding hoidays based on a unar caendar (e.g. Eastern) or some other cycic agorithm. The caendar is vaid by the year 2090. Maximum demand indicator Maximum demand can be based either on fixed or roing demand period. The demand period can be set in a range from 1 to 120 minutes with resoution 1 minute. It is possibe to register maximum demand of active energy for two energy fow directions as we as of reactive energy in each of four quadrants. Maximum demands are registered in tariffs (up to 8) and cumuative. It is possibe to disabe maximum demand registration for a certain period that foows a period of power shortage. oad profie A 32-channe data ogger is buit into the meter. It enabes oad profie registration per ine and poyphase of active energy demands in two energy fow directions and reactive energy demand in four quadrants or combination of them (i.e. Q1+Q2 and Q3+Q4). The oad profie period can be set in a range from 1 minute to 60 minutes with 1-minute resoution. The data ogger can aso register ine rms votages, tota harmonic distortion factors of ine votages (ony MT851), events that have occurred (power shortages, manua meter resets, etc) and the meter status (energy fow direction, disabed demand registration, tripping of a oad imiter, status of inputs and outputs, etc.). og-boo Events that have occurred as we as date and time of their occurrence are registered in a ring buffer by the microcomputer. The ogboo has 255 registers. Data stored in the og-boo can be downoaded with other data in the data down-oad sequence. The foowing events can be stored in the ogboo: power up, power down setting RTC, setting parameters via pushbuttons, parameterization of the meter via communication biing reset, previous vaues reset, ogboo reset, oad profie reset, Watchdog reset, Master reset, CPU error. Meter upgrading The meters can be upgraded by an Israemeco P2C communicator, which can be mounted on the meter termina boc. The P2C is connected to the meter communication interface and is equiped with a standard PSTN, ISDN or GSMmodem. In such a case CA-BAC function is possibe. Accessories The MeterView software that enabes the meter programming and data down-oading as we as an optica probe with a seria 9-pin connector are avaiabe on request.
