Used by the ancients Plywood is not a new invention. It has existed for thousands of years. As early as 3. years ago, the ancient Egyptian Pharaohs built their sarcophagi of glued veneer. In the 1s, furniture makers used the veneer technique to increase sustainability and as decoration. Plywood started being manufactured in Sweden in the early 19s, but at that time was called cross veneer. The combination of strength and weight meant that many airplanes were built from wood in the Second World War. This is our wood The wood is manufactured from rough Swedish spruce/ pinewood. Our wood is manufactured of veneers, normally syetrically built in relation to the centre veneer. Väner is manufactured with an odd number of layers in three, five, seven and nine veneers. The thicknesses of the veneers are 2. and 3.1. Many reasons to choose wood Wood is a natural, easy to work with and durable building material. It has no harmful side effects for the environment or humans during production, use or destruction. Plywood provides better function heat insulation versatility permanence than the majority of other materials, and in addition, at a comparable cost. Many usage areas Väner s structural wood has a series of usage areas. Exactly what type is adapted to what is illustrated in connection with the tables; here are just a few examples. supporting structures and general purposes within the construction, packaging and transport industries supporting and water-drainage roof underlay sheathing in storage areas, garages, etc. packaging sub-floors walls Characteristics Plywood is a reliable construction material. It has high durability and impact resistance, maintains its dimensions even in varying climates and is also easy to screw and nail in without splitting. Plywood has a great ability to withstand shearing, twisting and cupping. Our structural wood is technically well-documented and also equipped with Väner s official quality stamp and is strength approved in both Sweden and abroad. Ergonomically formed Of course there is a difference between wood boards for roofing and flooring, which are 6 and for walls, which are 6 and 9 wide instead of 12. Both construction workers and those of us at Väner believe this. The advantages are that the boards are simpler to handle, weigh less and are more friendly to the body. 2
