INSTRUCTIONS December 2017 The Clean Mama Homekeeping Society monthly essentials WHAT IS THE HOMEKEEPING SOCIETY? The Clean Mama Homekeeping Society is a monthly essentials kit to streamline, add order, and organization to your life. Overwhelmed? Feel like your home is always in a state of disaster that you can t get a handle on? Need some guidance and a lot of grace? Homekeeping Society is the perfect place for you! Every month, Becky from Clean Mama offers a virtual hand to hold and puts together the perfect simplified homekeeping guide for a busy life. Clean Mama sends you encouragement for the inevitable daily tasks with a simple, straightforward approach that works for ANY situation because it s flexible and has grace built in. You ll love the guidance and expert instruction that the Clean Mama Homekeeping Society will provide and help you bring some order into your chaos. Now that you have your monthly essentials, get ready to make some progress in your home. I have the perfect plan for you to implement in the midst of a busy life. HOMEKEEPING SIMPLIFIED Here s what you need to do: 1. Decide on a place to keep your printable monthly essentials binder, notebook, clipboard, or a combination of all three. My recommendation is to use a binder to keep the monthly essentials together. Set it up with monthly dividers and you ll have a homekeeping notebook in minutes. In your zip file you ll see two options for printing EASY PRINT and INDIVIDUAL PAGES. If you choose the easy print, simply print and it s ready to go in order and with the suggested number of copies per page. Just print and use. 2. Print one copy of the COVER PAGE and one copy of the HOMEKEEPING FOCUS page put this first in your notebook and then the rest of the documents can be placed behind them. 3. Print out the QUICK TIPS page. Every month you ll find a page of helpful quick tips sure to simplify your life. 4. Print out one or two copies of the TO DO LIST for December put this in your binder or a place that s easy for you to reference. If you re like me, putting a list to paper is so helpful to get those to-dos out of your head and ready for action. 5. THE DAILY PLANNER PAGE is a personal preference you might want to print out 30 copies, or you might only need 4 for Mondays because that s the busiest day of the week. My recommendation is to print out 4-7 copies and if you need more, print more. 6. Print 4-5 copies of the Weekly Docket one for each week I like to keep my weekly docket on my clipboard so it s out and visible during the week. Feel free to put them in a binder or resize them on your printer for your planner. 7. MENU PLAN FOR THE WEEK + MENU PLAN FOR THE MONTH this is up to you if you are new to menu planning, print out 4 weekly plans and one menu plan for the month. If you know that you do better planning weekly or monthly, print the format that works best for you. 8. Print the monthly calendar that works best for you or print them both. I have a proven cleaning routine that is simple and works for just about any situation try it and see if it works for you! 2 Monthly Calendars (1 blank, 1 pre-filled with homekeeping tasks) suggested daily cleaning tasks, weekly cleaning tasks, rotating cleaning tasks. 9. Print the SEASONAL PREPARATION PRINTABLE (this month it s an OFFICE/PAPER ORGANIZING CHECKLIST) perfect for taking a peek at 2017 before we head into 2018. 10. KITCHEN SINK QUOTE the quote for the month 5x7 frame and put at your kitchen sink or tape to your fridge to give you a little motivation and inspiration for the month. 11. INFORMATION PAGE (this month it s a GIFT IDEA CHECKLIST use this season or year round and keep it to remember who got what this year. 12. GET STARTED! With just a little bit every day, you will quickly begin to find success and progress in your home. Follow along and before long, homekeeping will be a simple habit that just happens. Happy Homekeeping! It always seems impossible until it s done. NELSON MANDELA CLEAN MAMA. LLC

HOMEKEEPING SOCIETY December 2017 CLEAN MAMA. LLC

HOMEKEEPING FOCUS OFFICE/PAPERWORK December 2017 What s the secret to successful homekeeping? Following a plan. This month s focus is to work on your office/paperwork. Take some time this month to organize and clean your office/office area and to get your 2017 paperwork under control before 2018. Take the time to do a deep clean and declutter and then assess any current systems and change what needs to be changed. OFFICE/PAPERWORK SIMPLIFIED Here s what you need to do: Write down 3 GOALS FOR your OFFICE/PAPERWORK that you d like to achieve this month. Choose 3 aspects of organizing these areas that you know you can complete with your schedule. O O O Write down WHEN you ll complete these goals this month. Determine what needs to happen to get these 3 goals checked off your list. Do you need to split this up into two small chunks of time or can you get it done in under an hour? Will you do a little in the evening or get up a little earlier so you can get it done before you head out for the day? Put your plan to paper and it s much more likely to get accomplished write it down! O Work on these simple tasks over the course of the month by completing the MONTHLY FOCUS tasks (these are also listed on the monthly calendar). Trying to complete these tasks in an afternoon or on one day is possible, but know that you can split it up throughout the month (my recommendation) and make it more manageable with your schedule. O O O O O O O O DE- clear surfaces and lose anything you don t use or love EVALUATE look at methods and systems already in place FIND 3 TROUBLE SPOTS write them down and commit to taking care of them SOMETHING NEW choose a new method or way of doing something to simplify your paper SHRED, SHRED, SHRED get rid of any papers you don t need anymore SUPPLIES shop the house for supplies to put your new systems in place SET UP YOUR SYSTEMS whether it s a new filing system or an attempt to go paperless, get something in place that will free you up from handling paper ADD ON once the first system is in place and working, add the next one GET STARTED! I don t know about you but having a handle on paper is essential to keeping the house from feeling cluttered. We are inundated daily with papers mail, school papers, etc. Keeping the counters clear and my office tidy is a must for me. You ll feel so much more ready for the new year if you take a little bit of time to tackle your paper systems (or lack of) now. If you have kids get them involved and make it a family project shredding paper, sorting school papers, etc. Come up with solutions together and they ll be that much more interested in the end outcome and maintenance of the space. Whatever your motivation is for keeping the space around you neat and tidy, remember that this month and keep going with your journey to more successful homekeeping! It always seems impossible until it s done. NELSON MANDELA CLEAN MAMA. LLC

QUICK TIPS December 2017 1. MAKE A GIFT LIST Instead of letting all those ideas swirl around in your head, make a gift list instead. Use the one included this month and the minute a gift idea comes to mind, write it down. If I don t have my gift list handy I will put my idea in my notes on my phone, on a little notepad, or even in my Amazon Wish List until I can transfer it to my list. This saves time and I can keep track of what I need to get, what I need to wrap, and what might not make the list. Sometimes I ll purchase ahead for birthdays from this list too. 2. MAKE A SIMMER Don t you just love warm scents for winter and the holidays? I love to make a simple simmer on the stove when I m doing holiday baking, decorating, or just need a little festive scent lingering in the kitchen. It s fun to be able to customize a couple scents for the seasons with what I have on hand or am in the mood for. Start with 4 cups of water in a saucepan on the stove or in a small crockpot and you ll be feeling festive in no time. Gather any combination of the following ingredients you only NEED one or two things, but you can combine to your heart s content. lemons oranges apples cranberries cinnamon sticks whole cloves fresh herbs pine needles extracts vanilla, almond, etc. essential oils (just a drop or two is all you need) 3. PUT AN END TO PAPER WITH 1 STEP Start with today s mail and sort it as soon as it comes in. Toss things that need to be tossed, file or pay bills, and shred anything that needs to be shredded. Going forward, continue with this simple habit and you ll find that paper clutter will be at a minimum. 6 It always seems impossible until it s done. NELSON MANDELA CLEAN MAMA. LLC
