Introduction

Improvisation and Jugaad Improvisation : Process of devising a solution to a requirement by making-do, despite absence of resources that might be expected to produce a solution. Jugaad a colloquial Hindi-Urdu word that can mean an innovative fix or a simple work-around, used for solutions that bend rules, or a resource that can be used as such, or a person who can solve a complicated issue

Innovation and Invention Innovation, it must be replicable at an economical cost, and must satisfy a specific need. That's why only a few inventions lead to innovations because not all of them are economically feasible. Invention: New scientific or technical idea, and the means of its embodiment or accomplishment. To be patentable, an invention must be novel, have utility, and be non-obvious. To be called an invention, an idea only needs to be proven as workable.

Definition of Innovation The process of translating an idea into a good or service that create value for which customer will be ready to pay and replicate at economic cost

The Internet age provides. Just about anyone can have an idea at breakfast, design it with online CAD software, produce a prototype on a 3D printer, receive financing and market analysis from a crowd funding site, rent supercomputer time from Amazon, contract a manufacturer and be done by lunch without even leaving the table. www.innovationexcellence.com/blog/2014/05/18/5-things-managers-should-know-about-the-big-data-economy/

Alexander Blass, CEO of Innovation Institute of America, Inc. and winner of Top Innovator of the Year award It is no secret that many of the world s top innovators come from India. Within the past few decades, India has embarked upon an incredible transformation from an agrarian-based society to a knowledge-based economy. Along with the population growth came survival instincts and the need to be different, better and unique. One can see innovation everywhere in India, whether in large game changing innovations that garner lots of publicity, or in less obvious yet important incremental fashions
