Press Release Collection 2019

Sahco Collection 2019 Bringing a contemporary approach to elegant, classic interior has always been central to Sahco s design philosophy. While keeping the elevated quality and exquisite taste that is forever associated with Sahco, the design team strives to produce timeless and elegant fabrics that appeal to a discerning clientele. For 2019, the new creative team of Design Director Anna Vilhelmine Ebbesen and Art Director Vincent van Duysen have continued this tradition with a collection of textiles that are warm, rich and soulful and that will play their own role in homes across the world. The six different upholstery fabrics play with texture and tactility. Irregular yarns of chenille and boucle add a tactile aspect to the surface, whilst a small graphic check in a cut and loop velvet is created by mixing mat and shiny yarns. Meanwhile a bold stripe in velvet explores either contrasting or tonal colours, allowing furniture to be as striking or discrete as you wish. Vincent van Duysen has exclusively designed two new upholstery fabrics Clay and Moss that use uneven yarns in strong contrasts to create a deep and luxuriously textured surface. By using colours inspired by Duysen s own home and the beautiful works of Belgian artist Michael Borreman, the design team brings together the worlds of art and interiors a meeting that will continue to drive the creative direction of Sahco. The six fabrics of the 2019 curtain collection also use texture to add a sumptuous and luxurious air. Matt and shiny surfaces interact to create beautiful floral designs while delicate linen becomes sheer in its lightness. At the other end of the scale, a bold graphic print provides a powerful statement in strong earthy colours or more muted neutral shades. The diversity of the collection, with its complex jacquards, sophisticated colour combinations and manifold surfaces offers a huge opportunity to create exciting and beautiful interiors. Throughout the whole collection, the richness of colour adds to the sense of texture and warmth. Rich earthy tones such as rust, charcoal, clay and khaki are mixed with the deep hues of various woods and are contrasted with more intense shades of brick red, cinnamon and sage green. Multiple shades of natural white and hues of smoky grey and blue provide serenity alongside more vivid colours, resulting in a harmonious, refined palette. The combination of texture and structure further enhances the beauty of the colour palette.

Clay Art. no. 600662 17 colours Width 137 cm / 54 Material 76% linen, 21% cotton, 3% polyester CLAY is one of the first fabric creations designed exclusively by Vincent van Duysen for SAHCO and this upholstery fabric combines natural beauty and finesse. The different yarn colours and structures create a fine colour mix and emphasize the fabric s special character. The back cloth provides more stability and easier upholstering of furniture. The colour palette is inspired by Vincent van Duysen s home, with rich textures, art, materiality and colour that ranges from cement, cool blue and sage up to clay and wood shades. Gem Art. no. 600660 9 colours Width 310 cm / 122 Material 82% viscose, 18% polyester GEM fascinates with naturalness and a softly moving surface structure. The semi-transparent decoration fabric with a subtle jacquard pattern stands out with its double width and therefore the manifold possibilities of its use The special dyeing technique Maltinto creates a delicately changing colourfulness and adds that special something. GEM s colour palette is as natural as its materiality. Jade Art. no. 600629 16 colours Material 45% cotton, 30% viscose, 25% polyester JADE stands out with its fine graphic design and three-dimensional surface structure. The upholstery fabric with small jacquard designs is reminiscent of an irregular chequerboard pattern. Various yarn counts and structures, from matt chenille up to smooth viscose, combine to create a lively surface structure and give the fabric a noble handle. The colour palette is characterised by neutral shades and supplemented by selected accent colours.

Mica Art. no. 600668 4 colours Width 140 cm / 55 Material 36% linen, 30% cotton, 20% silk, 14% viscose MICA is a decoration fabric with a rich and lush drape, interpreting a classic aspect in its own way. The jacquard texture shows medallion-like elements framed by subtle floral contours and a fine patina effect on the ground. The exquisite materials underline the finely selected colour combinations in midnight blue, steel blue, ivory and juniper green. Moss Art. no. 600664 22 colours Width 135 cm / 53 Material 52% cotton, 22% viscose, 14% acrylic, 6% linen, 3% polyamide, 2% polyester MOSS is the counterpart of CLAY and a further upholstery fabric by Vincent van Duysen. Due to the different yarn counts, the fabric s surface reflects a moved structure - striking and charming at the same time. The rich texture made of chenille and twisted effect yarn gives textile attitude and a soft handle. The colour palette consisting of oneand two-tone combinations is also inspired by Vincent van Duysen s home. It consists of a range of colours from cool cement and blue tones as well as shades of oily green tones completed by wood and curry yellow. Opal Art. no. 600666 4 colours Width 142 cm / 56 Repeat 81 cm / 32 Material 48% linen, 46% viscose, 6% silk OPAL is a rich and lush decoration fabric. The fashion-inspired generous design with pictorial, abstract leaf elements is the collection s key piece. Various weave techniques combined with the handpicked colour range create suspense and expression. The matt, shining linen-viscose character underlines the look of OPAL. Available in intense blue, earthy colours, vibrant multicolours and olive camouflage.

Perla Art. no. 600658 9 colours Width 295 cm / 116 Material 14% cotton, 7% nylon, 16% polyester, 63% viscose PBCEH PERLA enchants with a poetic, floral pattern. The semi-transparent, double-width decoration fabric is manufactured by using the intricate Scherli technique and skilfully combines various materials and structures to form an exciting arrangement. The soft chenille yarn creates a blossom motif combined with a dry cotton-like ground. PERLA is piece dyed and plays with changing colour intensities from midnight blue and forest green through to corn gold and smokey pastels. Reed Art. no. 600649 8 colours Width 134 cm / 53 Repeat 2 cm / 1 Material 56% cotton, 26% viscose, 18% linen REED is a small pattern upholstery fabric with graphic design. The special colour weave is created by two contrasting yarn colours. A natural handle, and a visual appearance and materiality created by linen and cotton define the look of REED. The colour palette includes clay tones but also contrasting combinations. Safire Art. no. 600657 17 colours Width 140 cm / 55 Repeat 81 cm / 32 Material 43% viscose, 17% polyacrylic, 15% wool, 9% cotton, 8% polyester, 8% linen SAFIRE interprets a hand-woven look in a subtle way with its coarse surface structure. The thick bouclé and chenille yarn gives the upholstery fabric a fascinating two-tone design. SAFIRE fascinates with a woolly handle and a very special colour palette from calm up to pulsating and strong shades.

Shell (reversible) Art. no. 600659 8 colours Width 310 cm / 122 Repeat 62 cm / 25 Material 32% cotton/ 35% cupro/ 33% linen PBCIH SHELL reversible has a soft and flowing drape. The floating satin weave creates a delicate lively structure on the front side. The use of cupro creates a satin-like gloss, which gives an exciting contrast to the matt, dry reverse side made of cotton and linen. Shell reversible is a decoration fabric with reversible possibilities of use and a harmonic colour palette, completed by accent colours in charcoal and tangerine. Silkwood Art. no. 600007 18 colours Width 140 cm / 55 Repeat 2 cm / 1 Material 100% wool SILKWOOD is a noble satin made of 100% finest combed wool and it is a SAHCO classic. The colour palette of the decoration and upholstery fabric now includes 12 new shades. The three times spun weft yarns provide a delicate sheen and a natural handle. SILKWOOD enchants with elegance and charm and offers a wide colour range. Velvet Art. no. 600660 5 colours Width 142 cm / 56 Repeat 33 cm Material 82% viscose, 18% polyester VELVET is an elegant upholstery velour a pattern of irregular stripes. Intricately manufactured using the cut & loop technique, an exciting play of structures is created by piles and loops. A discreet gloss, a fine handle and a brilliant colour depth underline its noble character. Depending on the choice of colour VELVET gives furniture an energetic aura, but also a discreet elegance with mystic or bright tone-on-tone combinations.
