By putting technology in the hands of students and faculty, the Hunt Library enables and encourages learning, experimentation, and technology-intensive projects, and builds community by showcasing university research and bringing together scholars from many disciplines.
The opening of the Hunt Library redefined the relationship between the NCSU Libraries and the researcher by signaling that this is a place that provides rewards to those who enter.

The Library as a Path to Campus Infrastructure
Libraries, OIT, and College of Sciences: Joint Research Computing Discussion Series
Shared Promotion of OIT Services that Support Researchers
Research Data Management We are currently recruiting for a Research Data & Infrastructure Librarian funded by OIT and placed in the Libraries Goals: Advances the development of research data management services in collaboration with the Libraries Research Data Committee and technology staff. Consults with researchers to enable them to better manage, describe, archive, preserve, and make available university research data. Partners with technology staff on development of technical solutions to meet emerging research data management needs. Collaborates with staff in the university s Office of Information Technology and other university units on providing support for use of centrally available research data storage. Monitors evolving funder data management and access policies and requirements, informing and educating the university community about new developments.
Research Intelligence Tools Research information environment is an area of opportunity for IT and Library collaboration Effective Research Intelligence allows institutions to report on activities, monitor compliance, demonstrate impact to our communities, track collaborations, and analyze trends in research activity on campus. Current environments are fragmented, requiring redundant data entry and providing an incomplete picture of research activities. First step at NCSU: focusing on activity reporting/faculty profiling
