Energy Practice Group Jerald Alexander, Toronto, Ontario Canada Jerald has extensive experience in strategic analysis, financial structuring and restructuring, business development and marketing, mergers and acquisitions and securing debt and equity for private and public companies. He has led or participated in transactions ranging from $2 - $400 million for various companies including: Acuma International Inc., Allelix Biopharmaceuticals Inc., Alta Genetics Inc., Apollo Environmental Systems Inc., Cangene Corporation, Dome Canada Limited, Petrolia Oil and Gas Ltd., Omex Inc. and CIF Furniture Limited. Gianpiero (JP) Balestrieri, Washington, D.C. Gianpiero (JP) is a Managing Partner & Principal at CFA. He has led and closed over $6 billion in M&A, corporate and project finance transactions in the upstream, midstream, FPSO, offshore and power generation sectors. As a GE Director, JP led a portfolio of $2.0 billion per year in M&A, buy-outs, and project transactions and received the GE Excellence Award. He has managed and advised on privatizations and M&A for oil & gas, natural gas, wind, biomass, solar and manufacturing assets. JP has closed transactions with Bechtel, AES, Chevron, Haliburton, Petrobras, Petronas and Pemex on behalf of mid market companies. Herbert Bud Boles, Midland, Texas Bud is Managing Director of CFA s Midland office. He is an engineer and attorney by profession with widespread experience in the energy field. He has held senior executive positions with major independent U.S. oil and gas exploration and production companies and has initiated and supervised large exploration and production programs both domestically and abroad. Bud continues to be active in the energy field and serves as one of CFA s energy experts. He represents buyers and sellers of producing properties, service and supply companies within the energy sector. Bud has worked with companies of all sizes. Ron Chernak, Denver, Colorado Ron is Managing Director of CFA s Colorado office. He is an accountant and attorney by profession and has over thirty years of business transaction experience. Ron has extensive transaction experience in wide variety of industries including energy related businesses. With completed transactions in natural gas and oil field service sectors, Ron is currently focused on the energy industry in the Rocky Mountain region. 4
Jim Gerberman, Houston, Texas Jim s experience and expertise within the energy industry has evolved from several leadership roles as President/CEO of small/ mid-sized companies and divisions of larger corporations. His companies provided process instrumentation for upstream, mid-stream, and downstream applications- including oil & gas exploration and production, distribution, refining, etc. Additionally, while in these roles, Jim was involved in planning and execution of acquisition efforts, on both buy side and the sell side. Roy Graham, San Antonio, Texas Roy brings over 35 years of experience as a business owner, executive and investment banker. He has served in executive capacities with public and private companies in several industries including as CFO of a Texas independent O&G producer and President of a Texas based independent oil and gas exploration company. Roy s energy experience is broad based having worked with all types of oilfield service companies, equipment manufacturers, suppliers, producers, contractors and support service companies. Roy is Past President of the Central Texas chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth and currently serves on the organization s Board of Directors. George Walden, Houston, Texas George was reared in the family manufacturing business, he has worked extensively with privatelyowned companies throughout his career. George has analyzed and valued hundreds of businesses for presentation to private equity groups, strategic industry buyers, and individual investors. His transactions include oilfield OEM businesses, valve and actuator companies, pump and compressor manufacturing and service companies and pipeline integrity and maintenance companies. Jeff Wright, Minneapolis, Minnesota Jeff has had a long career owning, operating and selling his own businesses and started applying his lifetime of business experience to full time investment banking two years ago. For several years he was president and co-owner of an alternative energy firm that focused on the financing and development of energy projects. Jeff has a Bachelor of Science degree from Lehigh University s College of Business and Economics. 5
