Tulsa Audubon Society 2009 Annual Report Paul W. Ribitzki, Recorder Revision A Page 1 of 6

The information contained in this report was taken from the records of the Tulsa Audubon Society for the calendar year 2009. It is a summary of the first and last dates reported, the number of field reports per season, the number of individuals per season, the total number of reports, and the total number of individuals. The species are divided into three reporting periods: Spring Migrants, Summer Residents, and Fall Migrants. This report also offers a brief comparison of the 2008 and 2009 records. The reporting area includes all of Tulsa County, all of Lake Keystone, and up to five miles into the bordering counties of Creek, Okmulgee, Osage, Pawnee, Rogers, Wagoner, and Washington. There were 272 species that totaled 230,401 individuals in 4863 field reports in 2009. This was less than the 396,185 individuals of 271 species in 4946 field reports in 2008. There were 19 species reported in 2008 that were not recorded in 2009 and 20 species reported in 2009 that were not seen in 2008. Monk Parakeets were included in this report and are considered a hypothetical species by the Oklahoma Ornithological Society.
