Relevant technologies in the field of Industrie 4.0 CTIC is a Research and Technology Organization (RTO), located in the North of Spain, specialised in cutting-edge technologies in the field of ICT. CTIC has currently a staff of 60 persons including engineers and doctors. We have taken part in more than 50 R&D collaborative projects with a wide set of business entities, most of them SMEs, at both international and national level. Some of these projects have been performed under the frame of EU Programmes such as 6th and 7th Framework Programmes for Research and Technological Development (FP6, FP7), the Active and Assisted Living Programme (AAL), the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP) and Interreg. CTIC s activity is focused in 5 specialization fields: Web of Things, Intelligent Data Analysis, Vision Technologies, ICT for Active Ageing and Wellbeing, and Digital Growth: -- WEB OF THINGS -- Our team of experts work on building interactive social and industrial applications through the interconnection of devices. We help create smart environments, to enable you react independently for quick decision-making (the best reaction in the shortest time possible).

We have extensive experience in building scalable architectures, data analysis in BigData contexts as well as in the communication between different types of sensors. Monitoring variables: System capable of capturing and processing large volumes of data in real time, ensuring a high rate of transmission and processing. Self-discovery of sensors and functionalities: Protocols for self-discovery of capacities and intelligent self-provisioning of software. -- INTELLIGENT DATA ANALYSIS -- At CTIC we work to make the best out of data, by combining Business Intelligence and Semantic Technologies for information processing. Data4value: Transformation of raw data into meaningful and useful information for businesses and organizations. Data mining and Text mining; Knowledge publication and management; Visualization and data representation; Recognition of natural language. Interoperability and Open Data: Opening of data in the public and private sectors, following W3C global consortium own methodology and applying W3C technologies that promote interoperability. Development of Web-based tools; Audit and consulting services regarding web quality and accessibility; Training on W3C standards; Device independence; Development of mobilisation tools; Training in and transfer of mobilisation technologies; Development of Web of Things applications. Smart energy: Energy production, management and consumption, from the perspective of energy efficiency. Modelling and simulation tools and ICT based solutions for smart energy solutions. -- VISION TECHNOLOGIES -- We provide solutions to social and industrial problems, through image recognition, drawing information and using intelligence systems for decision-making. Computer Vision Developments under the so-called artificial intelligence, aimed at the provision of image recognition capabilities to devices with computing power. Augmented Reality

This technology allows to overlap virtual content to real environments, showing a mixed perception of reality. Our developments are based in an own AR platform called VISOR. Virtual Reality Virtual Reality is addressed to the creation of non-real 3D environments, automatically generated, that can be explored and interacted by people. Our developments are based in an own VR platform called CTIC-VR which allow us high speed and high quality conversion from CAD3D files to VR environments. -- TECHNOLOGIES FOR ACTIVE AGEING -- Search for solutions enabling to extend and maintain active and healthy life of people, responding to the challenge of an aging population. Cognitive stimulation systems (Serious Games): Systems designed to help people improve their autonomy and independent living through cognitive and physical stimulation systems. Users monitoring: Systems to detect control and prevent critical conditions through the use of different kinds of sensors. These systems are mainly based on data analysis techniques using sensors to build smart homes (physical spaces reacting to the characteristics and need of people) and to create wearable solutions. Multimodal platforms: Experience in TV-based solutions, virtual assistants, voice and gesture-based interfaces and multimodal interaction to allow user experience with different devices simultaneously. Usability and Accessibility issues taken into account. User involvement: Working in digital inclusion, requirements gathering and solutions validation with people with special needs (elderly, Alzheimer, Parkinson ) -- DIGITAL GROWTH -- We design services for the development of innovative digital territories, from an economic, social and governance perspective. In the business environment, we have a long and proven experience in supporting SMEs in their process of technological transformation and improvement of competitiveness, through innovative activity.
