Plenty of Fish Tutorial The Online Dating for Your Soulmate Way POF.com This is a tutorial to lead you through the process of putting up your Plenty of Fish (POF.com) profile. I highly suggest listening to the Step 3 audio first, and then, going over the Written Material for Step 3 and doing the exercises. Have this work near you as you begin your POF.com profile. It will help you greatly. You can refer to it as you go through the process of putting up your profile Before You Start

1. Bring up POF.com on your browser. Here is the link or you can click through to the hyperlink earlier in this very sentence: http://www.pof.com/register.aspx 2. Then, start some music that inspires you, light a candle, pour yourself a beverage, stretch and get comfortable. This will take a while, and you could break it up into smaller sit-downs to gradually get it done rather than have a marathon session to complete. 3. Open a Word or notepad new document. Save it and title it: "POF.com profile". Then, paste every single answer you give on POF.com in there. That way, you'll have it in case you accidentally delete your profile or need to retire it for a while or anything else. This is the ONLY way you'll be sure you don't lose any of your answers. 4. Most important is staying refreshed, and taking breaks to make sure you're in the right frame of mind to exude a soulmate level vibration throughout this process. Okay, so let us begin! New Account Sign-up Username Gender Birthdate - can put real one or one close to yours (by a couple of years at most for security) Ethnicity Country Fill these fields in plus password, enter the Captcha the words you see above that box, check the box next to I agree to terms of service and press CONTINUE. Much of this info is basic, and your username is something you ve thought about & hopefully, come up with during the Step 3 exercises. Profile Questionaire Type in or choose the right answers for you. The order of each line item seems a bit random. Be sure to ready each item carefully before you answer. A written or chosen answer is required for each line item. Be as honest as you can be. Postal Code / Zip City Seeking (Male or Female)

Height Looking For - Choose Dating or Long Term Relationship Hair Color Body Type - Pick the one closest to the truth, and if you are in-between two, pick the better-sounding one. Own a Car? Education Eye Color Second Language State of Residence Do You Want Children? Marital Status (7 options for clarity) it s is not lying if you just choose single. Because you are. Do You Have Children? Do You Smoke? (No, Occasionally, Often) Do You Do Drugs? (No, Socially, Often) If you smoke marijuana every now & then, you can still put NO because according to studies, most people do not consider that a drug :-) Do You Drink? (Prefer not say, No, Socially, Often) Religion religion is something that s not great to talk about on the first few dates. It can be far too divisive, and even folks within the same denomination have differing beliefs according to belief-net. So, pick something broad here but not exclusive unless it is very important for you to date within only your religion. Your Profession Do You Have Pets? Describe Your Personality in One Word (limited choices) go back to the legwork we did for Step 3 to find the right one word. Think about the way friends would describe you, how you want to be, your general demeanor. Political Views (7 choices for clarity) be as general as possible. This can be a non-issue in relationship, and can be very divisive. So unless you are super staunch and would never consider someone even a few degrees less staunch, be general and open.

DETAILS When it comes to dating what best describes your intent? Answer : be honest but I would put relationship at the very least What is the longest relationship you have been in? Answer: be honest First Name: Enter your name here. You can choose not to show it on your profile if you prefer. Income: They use income behind the scenes for matching. But it is very hard for anyone to see this so don t worry about it. Family My birth father and mother are: Number of siblings and birth order placement They use birth order behind the scenes for matching. Would you date someone who has kids? Would you date someone who smokes? Would you date someone that has BBW or a few extra pounds selected as a body type? ------ ------ ------ Break Time! STOP!!!! You are now halfway through the quiz. I sincerely recommend that you take a break, and stretch, put on some good or sexy music, dance, get a snack, say a prayer, curl up in a fetal ball (LOL) or make some tea. Thinking of all of this stuff can take some concentration so let's lighten it up for a moment before continuing.

When you feel refreshed, only then continue! ------ ------ ------ Now, let us continue! Headline ex. looking for me? Put something unique here, but avoid pigeonholing yourself. You may have come up with this in Step 3 (I hope) but if not, go back and do those exercises to help you come up with a headline. Remember do this all in a Word file first, and then just cut and paste to have your best answers ready and not have to be on the fly. Remember to go over those answers a couple of times just like a good writer might edit before being satisfied and ready to do your profile live on-line. Description It s best not to include your name, phone number, or address. People will read both your profile AND message when deciding if they should write back to you. When people search on the site the following description will be their first impression of you. If you want to be successful on POF, try this: 1. Talk about your hobbies. 2. Talk about your goals and aspirations. 3. Talk about yourself and what makes you unique. 4. Talk about your taste in music. 5. Talk about what you love!!! Try to smile when you are doing this. Go dance a little more to be in the right mood to express yourself from your most positive energy. Speak somehow about your job, what you enjoy, future plans and goals. Try to put something creative, and go to your list. Or ask friends or family. It's good to be different. Do not make this exhaustive. Just

put the things you care most about. You can make a list with different categories or bullet points, too. Please use a minimum of 100 characters. Remember to imagine your soulmate reading this and being intrigued. (S)he is drawn to you and feels the energy and essence of your being behind these words. Smile at that thought (as you should!) Interests Separate interests with commas. Travel Working Out Hiking Camping Reading Investing Real Estate Cooking/Organic Cooking Watching Movies Music Sports (if so, name the sports) If you want someone to have a certain interest, then definitely include that. Go back to our legwork that we did in Step 3 for some ideas, and remember you don t have to be exhaustive in this. Just a hint of who you are is fine. And if you don t yet do something but want to do it (say scuba diving), it s find to put that in. Be honest here, and put what you d love to spend your time doing. First Date

This optional field allows you to describe your ideal date. The longer your description, the more likely it is you will get responses. After you have entered and/or chosen all of the required fields, please confirm your birthdate at the bottom of the page. You will not able to change it after this step. I invite you to paint a picture here, and make it good. Think of some of the guided meditations we are doing in this class. Get into some fun, enticing details. Include the other person using YOU or WE to be inviting, and do be true to yourself and what you enjoy. Remember you have prepaved this one by answering ahead of time in a Word document. You can browse some profiles to see what folks you might like are saying, and get ideas, but only put something that you really would like to do! DON T say anything about going to your house this early, ok? Remember on a first date, it s a gettingto-know-you time, so it shouldn t be too elaborate, should be on neutral territory (probably not a party or at either one of your homes). I do recommend doing this one, but if it is not coming easily, it s fine to skip it. Click on Create My Profile Now! Put Up Your Photo Click on "Click to Upload Images", then click on "Browse" and keep clicking until you find the photo you took or want to choose and double click on it (this is why hopefully you KNOW where you put it on your computer's hard drive -- which file). You will see the file name appear in the little box next to the "Browse" button to the right. If you picked the wrong photo, then just click START OVER, but if you got the right one, then click on NEXT You might get a message when you upload your photo that it is "too small" or "too large." If that is the case, do what I told you in Step 3, to resize the photo (go to the Paint program on your computer, open up the file in there, and resize the photo to what is needed. The way to do so is to click on "resize" near the top middle, then click near the top to the "pixels" tab -- click in the middle of circle -- and change so that the lowest value is 400 -- which will automatically switch the other value to keep it to scale. Down near the bottom, click "ok" to close out that window. Then, you will click under FILE "save as," name the photo the same name or something different and close the file. Then try reloading the photo with the new size). Last step once the system accepts your photo is to scale it for your thumbnail. The thumbnail is what will show when folks are browsing through photos of people. A brighter colored box now appears in the middle of your photo, and it may not include your whole face. Take your mouse pointer, and click and hold on one edge of the box and drag it outward in the direction you need to. Keep clicking on it,

and pulling it to adjust to include your whole face -- the view you want showing of you. The square will stay the same shape, so you may have to experiment to get the framing just right. Make sure your face is pretty large in the frame or it won't show once it's just a small thumbnail people are browsing through. Once you've got it framed well, then click NEXT. You will get a nice message that says you're good to go. At this point, you can add another photo if you want (up to 8 for free). Just click on ADD ANOTHER to the right or if you're done, either click on SEE PHOTO or you can click at the X in the top right corner to continue. ----- ----- ----- Setting Your Profile to Private (for now) Now, make your profile PRIVATE until we are ready to start looking for matches (in Step 4, we start that). Log in Got to Edit Profile at top of screen The page that opens will be a section where you can modify what your profile says. You should already be on the Edit Profile tab but if not click on that tab Find the link To hide your profile from others click here and click the Click here portion of that link. It is just below the "Edit Profile" tab and next to the text Hiding your profile" Reverse these steps when you are ready to go live & start being open for interactions and matches.
