Introduction This guide is intended to help get you started quickly. In order to achieve optimal usage of your new soundcard, we recommend that you carefully study the full manual on the enclosed CD-ROM, before or after completing the process described in this guide. Windows Installation Note: You must have Direct X 9.0b installed in your system before installing the Revolution 5.1 software. For your convenience, Direct X 9.0b is included on the enclosed CD-ROM. Start your computer. Insert the M-AUDIO DRIVERS CD-ROM and wait a moment until it displays the InstallShield Wizard. Follow the instructions to install the driver properly. Shut your computer down, unplug it from its power source, and insert the Revolution 5.1 PCI card into an available PCI slot. For specific instructions on how to do this, please refer to the Revolution 5.1 Manual s Hardware Setup section. Restart the computer. When the machine finishes rebooting, a Found New Hardware Wizard will appear with the recommended hardware driver settings already selected. Press Next and follow the onscreen prompts to complete the driver installation. to the jacks on the Revolution 5.1. If your current DVD player cannot decode a Dolby Digital surround sound signal, install WinDVD 5 from the included CD-ROM. Insert the Revolution CD-ROM into your Macintosh CD-ROM drive and double-click the Revolution CD icon that will appear on your desktop. In the Revolution CD-ROM window, double-click the Mac OS 9.2.2 folder. Then, double-click the Revo 5.1 Installer application icon and follow the instructions on each screen. 1
