Long Range Wireless Applications 900 MHz Wireless Switch Follower/Remote Control Receiver (with On-Board 10-Amp Relays) The switch followers are a two way system designed to provide a quick and cost effective solution for a variety of wireless switching applications. Each unit has four inputs connected to a transmitter and 4 outputs connected to a receiver. Designed to work in pairs, the output realy at the receive end of one unit will follow the input at the transmit end of the other unit. An optional loopback mode can be set for each channel separately. This will activate the corresponding relay at the originating (TRANSMIT) end confirming the switch change was carried out at the other unit. The inputs on the other unit are ignored for those channels set in the loopback mode. The inputs are opto-isolated and may be operated by an applied voltage that can be supplied by a power source from 5 to 24 Volts AC or DC through a switch contact, relay, sensor, PLC output, etc. Alternatively, instead of automatic switch following operation, the SF900 can operate as a 4-channel wireless relay using a SFT900 2 or 4-button handheld remote control. In this configuration, latched, momentary and toggle mode outputs are available. When a button is pushed on the SFT900-4, a beep will indicate that the proper relay was triggered in the SF900. In this configuration, the SF900 is always in the loopback mode. These products utilize frequency hopping spread spectrum technology and are immune to interference and multipath fading. All inputs and outputs are independently isolated from each other and from the power supply ground. Learn Mode Instructions The SF900 learn mode is initiated by pushing the learn button on both units and releasing them. The power LED s on both units will start blinking and a handshaking protocol is initiated. After a few seconds, the power LEDs will stop blinking and stay ON. The data light on each unit will also turn ON indicating successful pairing operation. To pair a SF900 switch follower with a SFT900 hand-held remote unit, push the learn button on the SF900 and the power LED will start blinking. Then push 1, 2, 3, 4 on the SFT900. Two beeps will be heard from the SFT900. After a few seconds of handshaking protocol, the power LED on the SF900 will stop blinking and remain ON and the data LED will light. A beep will be heard from the SFT900. Pairing will be complete. Application Circuit Standard www.appliedwireless.com Tel: (805) 383-9600 Fax (805) 383-9001

When loopback mode is enabled, the corresponding inputs at the receive end are ignored. Toggle: Push on/push off Latched: A latched mode operates with at least one other channel set to latched mode. For example, if channel 1 and 2 are set to latched mode, pushing button 1 on the SFT900-4 will turn relay 1 on the SF900. Pushing button 2 will turn off relay 1 and turn on relay 2. This mode is often used when a separate on and off button is desired. If more than 2 channels are selected for latched mode, only 1 relay can be activated at any given time. Any activated relay will result in the others being turned off. J1 T L Latched Mode When paired with SFT900 transmitters, the J1 Jumper setting must be set to the L position to allow SW1 to select channels for the Latched mode. J1 For any other mode of operation, the J1 jumper should be set in the T position, the factory default configuration www.appliedwireless.com Tel: (805) 383-9600 Fax (805) 383-9001
