3 rd YEAR 6771 Accounting for Cost Calculation and Control Understand the fundamental concepts related to cost calculation and control. Prepare models for cost calculation applicable to the tourism sector and analyse the resultant figures. Understand the behaviour of the different types of costs, as well as the methodology oriented towards the valuation and allocation of costs to tourism sectors. Know the utility of management information systems in relation to measurement of performance and control over tourism and business activity. Use information technologies in a swift and satisfactory way for the treatment of internal accounting information held by the tourism firm. Distinguish the advantages and limitations of the different structures for the calculation of sales margins for decision-taking related to the binomial tourism service/market. Know how to listen to the opinions and contributions of their companions in a respectful way, while maintaining a critical and enriching attitude when making their contributions. 6772 English for Communication in the Tourism Sector III General objectives: - The general objective is to train students in the effective use of English within the tourism sector. - Know the grammatical structures of the language to B1+ / B2 level. - Master the specific vocabulary of the tourism sector. - Demonstrate knowledge of having read tourism-related texts. - Stimulate oral communication in English in various professional contexts of tourism. - Analyse and use Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in the various areas of the tourism sector. 6773 Management of Human Resources in the Tourism Firm Competences that the student should acquire following the module * Capability for organisation and planning * Team work * Ethical commitment * Independent learning * Understand the principles of tourism: their spatial, social, cultural, political, labour-related and economic. * Use communication techniques. * Plan and manage the human resources of tourist organisations. 6774 Financial Management of Tourism Activities Financial management of Tourist activities is a compulsory module of the core subject Management of Tourism firms. The module has the aim of analysing the process of securing and allocating financial resources that takes places in the tourism firm. The curricular program is organised into four large thematic blocks or parts to achieve this objective. The first part has the objective of familiarising the student with the financial function of the tourist firm, its long and short-term cycles that it experiences and the financial decisions that have to be taken. In the second part, we analyse the setting in which to take financial decisions in a firm, in other words, the financial system and its elements: assets, markets and financial institutions. The third and fourth parts concern themselves with an analysis of the financial decisions of the firm. First, we analyse the long-term decisions: investment, funding and dividends. We finish the course by studying cash management: the short-term financial decisions of the firm,. 3rd year 2/8

The basic contents of the module are as follows: - Basic concepts of Tax Law. - General aspects of tax procedures, inspection, collection and review. - Tax power of the State, the Autonomous Regions and Local Corporations. - Taxes on the economic benefits of the firm: Company Tax [Impuesto sobre Sociedades] and personal Income Tax [Impuesto sobre la Renta de las Personas Físicas]. - Added value tax. - Formal obligations and social collaboration of entrepreneurs. From this perspective, and after succeeding at this module, the future graduates should be able to do the following: - Know and distinguish basic concepts of Tax Law - Interpret and apply tax norms. - Analyse and resolve circumstance involving real facts. - Use new technologies in the field of tax law. 3rd year 3/8

6777 Territorial Analysis of Tourism Spaces. Territorial analysis of the Tourism phenomenon and study of the spatial implications they entail. Study of the territorial dynamics of tourism activities and classification of their spatial factors. Individualized and detailed knowledge of the typologies and locations of tourism spaces. Classification of instruments for territorial analysis and their application to tourism processes. Management of the tourism space and territorial management of the dynamics generated by tourism in the different types of spaces. OPTIONAL COURSES: 6778 French for Communication in the Tourism Sector II - Consolidate prior knowledge of the French language. - Progressively acquire the grammatical and lexical elements that allow the student to communicate in French in a tourism context. - Analyze cultural aspects in which the different communicative situations arise from documents, case studies, etc... 6779 Chinese Language and Culture II I.- General teaching objectives 1. Students can understand basic materials relating to their person and daily life. They are able to repeat, reproduce and write words (characters) and sentences without errors. 2. They start to have an interest in the Chinese language and gain confidence in learning it. 3. With the guidance of the teacher, start to have knowledge of the didactic, communicative, and interdisciplinary strategies, as well as learning and resource-related strategies. In this first stage, students also start to have an 3rd year 4/8

interest in Chinese culture and acquire intercultural awareness and global perspectives. II. Introduction to the study of the Chinese language. The languages of China. Linguistic geography of the Chinese language. - Spoken languages: Hanyu, Guānhuà, Guo Yu, Pǔtōnghuà, and Bo Po Mo Fo (BPMF) the national phonetic system of Taiwan. - Written language: origin and evolution of the written language. Basic strokes of the characters. Analysis of the elements of the character. Simplified and traditional characters: Wényán Wén and Báihuà. Linguistic policy: Linguistic reforms. Standardization of the spoken language. Transcription systems: Pinyin and Wade-Giles. Problems surrounding the application of occidental grammatical categories to the Chinese language. - Phonology: phonology of modern Chinese. The dialect of Beijing as a model for pronunciation. Tones, Initial and final vowels and consonants. Intonation. - Morphology: structure of written Chinese characters. Principles of character formation. Etymology of the radicals. Basic characters, pictograms and ideograms, phonetic compounds and other types of characters. Number of characters. Traditional and simplified characters. Number of characters. Principles of word formation: monosyllables, polysyllables, neologisms. - Syntax: typological characteristics of the Chinese language: Subject-verbobject; adjective-noun; classifiers-numbers. The simple sentence. The affirmative sentence. The negative sentence. The interrogative sentence. III.- Cultural awareness: Cultural awareness: 1. Basic knowledge of China and its territory relating to its achievements in education and culture. 2. Learn about Chinese cuisine and dress, which form part of its material culture. 3. Learn some Chinese stories and their allusions and connotative meanings. 4. Gain knowledge of linguistic and extra linguistic communicative functions in Chinese culture. 5. Learn Chinese customs and etiquette in social contact. 6. Learn something about interpersonal relations in Chinese culture. Cultural understanding: 1. Broaden interest in Chinese culture. 2. Gain awareness of fundamental aspects of Chinese culture and learn about the relations between linguistic study and culture. 3. Gain experience of value in Chinese culture. 4. Gain knowledge about the plurality and permeability of cultures. Intercultural awareness: 1. Investigate and study the homegeneity and the heterogeneity of Chinese and Spanish culture 3rd year 5/8

2. Understand the importance of intercultural awareness through Chinese culture. Global Perspective: 1. Begin to observe Chinese and Spanish cultural phenomena. 2. Through the study of the Chinese language and its culture, be aware of the importance of observing and analysing the world from different perspectives. 3. Start to develop awareness of global citizenship. 6780 Heritage of Castile and Leon General learning outcomes: * Provide the student with basic theoretical and methodological knowledge on the natural and cultural heritage of the community to be able to use them as a tourism resource. * Cultivate the ability of the student to recognize and to value the importance of natural and cultural heritage in the construction of the identity of a people and as a tourism resource and a factor in the development of a quality of life and its improvement. * In-depth case study of models for the management and promotion of heritage that are developed in the community (natural spaces, archaeological sites, monuments, cultural networks) with special application to tourism activity. * Allow the student to understand and to reflect upon the different categories of heritage and their relations with natural and cultural processes. Specific learning outcomes: * Know and value the heritage of the community and its contribution in the context of nature tourism and national and international cultural tourism. * Recognize the styles, artists, techniques and general characteristics that have been studied in museum pieces and churches and monuments. * Develop research skills in the management and consultation of bibliographic resources and facilitate access to them. * Use the specific vocabulary for the elements that constitute a natural space, its historic periods and artistic movements. * Capability to apply models for tourism management and promotion to case studies proposed with a view to stimulating the promotion of tourism in the community. 3rd year 6/8

6781 Quality Management in the Tourism Sector 1. Know the reasons that drive the redefinition of business and organizational premises towards the quality strategy. 2. Define the basic concepts of these strategies based on client satisfaction and the permanent reordering of all organization towards continuous improvement. 3. Manage the quality of a firm, institution or tourism destination. Be able to introduce and evaluate quality systems, more specifically ISO 9001, the EFQM Excellence model and the Q brand of the ICTE. 4. Establish comparisons between these systems, defining the necessary processes to implement measurement and analysis and continuous improvement. 6782 Contemporary Artistic Expression - Know the genesis and characteristics of artistic expression in the contemporary World. - Analyse artistic expression in the Modern World, the factors that determine them and the evolution of forms. - Learn to comment on and to classify the works under study with exactitude. - Learn to make correct use of the concepts, categories and methods of the Art Historian. 6783 Tourism and Sustainable Development - Know and assimilate the multifactorial concept of sustainability: environmental sustainability, economic sustainability, socio-cultural sustainability, etc - Know and identify sustainable development as an eco-efficient development model, that is environmentally friendly, socially equitable, long-lasting and just. - Understand the meaning and the scope of the concept and the principles of sustainable development as an activity committed to the minimization of its impact on the environment and local culture, while contributing to the economic development of the region and the receiving society. 3rd year 7/8

- Understand tourism as a potent development instrument necessarily integrated in the strategic plans of sustainable development. - Know and manage in an appropriate way, good management practices, and their use in tourism activities to guarantee their sustainability. - Understand the meaning and the scope of the international subjectivity of the State in all of its dimensions. - Develop the capability to formulate reasoned judgments based on international norms and practice, and grounded in respect for legal-international values and goods. - Know and use legal regulations on tourism sustainability, and their economic incentives, as well as their application to a wide range of sectors. 3rd year 8/8
