I can t wait to see what it brings! Our Holiday Social was a rousing success -so much fun. It was nice and cozy! A big thank you goes to the Bumbling Block Party bee for organizing it for us. It was a lovely evening (and I love, love, loved those table decorations). January brings us Quilto for our program meeting. Bring your pennies, buttons or M&Ms as markers, and compete to win some great prizes, all organized for you by our VP of Programs, Barb Hall. It should be an exciting evening! We also look forward to our Charity Sew-In day. Come join with others for a fun day of making quilts for children and soldiers. It s always a good time - and rewarding as well. A few months ago I asked you about your quilting color palette. What colors and color combinations are your favorites to work with? Which do you gravitate toward in your projects? Did you know that Pantone announces a new "color of the year" each year? Paint and fabric companies do too. This year Pantone has picked Ultra Violet, while fabric manufacturer Robert Kaufman has picked Tigerlily. There s nothing shy about those colors! If you're interested in other 2018 color trends, see paint companies Sherwin- Williams, Behr, and www.quiltersunlimited.org Benjamin Moore's suggestions. (My living room has been something similar to Benjamin Moore s pick, Caliente, for years. I m such a trendsetter). Maybe these new colors will inspire you to try something new. Don t forget to show and tell! Piecefully, Barb P.S. I promised to nag you, and I almost forgot: We need a Nominations Chair. Burke QU meetings will take place at: Sangster Elementary School 7420 Reservation Drive Springfield, VA 22153 2nd and 4th Wednesdays, 7pm Except as noted in the Calender
