1. GAME TYPE Hot Slots is a video based skill game without any payout possibility, which is purely for entertainment purposes. 2. GAME SEQUENCE The game can begin once you have entered a coin or note, and interrupted the demo mode (if the slot-machine is in the demo mode). 2.1. Starting the game After you have pressed the START button, a three-symbol combination will be displayed on the top left of the game monitor. It then must be added to the slot chosen by the player by means of the SLOT 1, SLOT 2, SLOT 3 and SLOT 4 game buttons. If they can be allocated, a new 3-symbol combination is displayed. 2.2. Objective of the game The objective of the game is to place the respective three-symbol combinations in the 4 slots so that the a required number of points is obtained in the "Target" box situated above the default winning lines (3 x horizontally and 2x diagonally per slot) in order to access the following level. The points to be won for each individual symbol combination as well as the individual bonus winnings increase for each of the following levels. In order to obtain point winnings for a winning line, at least three identical symbols must appear on that line. The number of points available for each individual symbol combination is indicated in the centre of the monitor The points won per slot are displayed in the black field situated above the respective slot window. Should an insufficient number of points be obtained due to unskilful allocation of the 3-symbol combinations, the "GAME OVER" message appears and the game comes to an end. You can start a new game by pressing the Start button. The player then begins again at Level 1 (with the lowest point winnings). 2.3. Display window "Score": "Credit": "Total": The total number of points won in previous game rounds is displayed in this window. Once you have inserted the coins, this field displays the credit remaining. One unit is deducted from the credit for each new game or for each further level. "Target": In order to access the following level, the player must obtain or exceed the default number of points indicated in the "Target" window. "Lives": "Next Life": This window displays how many lives the player has available. Should the required number of points not be reached during the respective game round, a life is deducted (as long as at least 2 are still available) and the player thereby accesses the next level. Should the player reach the default number of points indicated in this window, he wins an additional life. "Time Bonus": After the first three-symbol combination has been allocated to a slot, the number of points indicated in this window decreases continuously. At the end of each game round, the remaining points are added to the actual winnings for the respective game. The player can see his position in the ranking list (Hall of Fame) in the "Rank" window. Furthermore, the player has the possibility to win additional free games (max. 5) once he has won a certain number of points. The number of points required and the number of free games that can thereby be won are shown in the "Points-Prices" box (top left of the monitor) 2.4. Bonus Winnings 2.4.1. 3 WINNING SLOTS Should the player obtain points in 3 slots by skilfully allocating the 3-symbol combinations during a game, the points indicated under "3 winning slots" (in the centre of the monitor) are added to the actual winnings of the respective game round at the end of the game. 2.4.2. 4 WINNING SLOTS In order to obtain these bonus winnings, the player must have won points in four slots during a game by the skilful allocation of 3-symbol combinations. In that case, the bonus is added to the points won in the respective game round 2.4.3. 9 ALIKE BONUS Should the player manage to fill a slot with 9 identical symbols by the skilful allocation of three-symbol combinations during a game, the points indicated under "9 alike Bonus" are added to the winnings of the current game round. 2.4.4. HOT BONUS If the player obtains a winning combination with the "Hot Slots" symbol in a slot, the current game is interrupted and the symbols in the slot window begin to spin just like in a roller game. After each spin, the "rollers" stop automatically and the points won by obtaining symbol combinations are indicated in the black box situated above the slot. This action is repeated at random from 5 times to a maximum of 12 times. The points won are added to the current score. 3.4. IO-Check Start with the Hold 4 button. In this test, the entry / exit functionality can be checked, the monitor can be set by means of a test card and the volume of the game can be adjusted. 3.5. Key Settings Start with the Hold 5 button. 3.5.1. Introduction This key system is an electronically programmable security key available for all traditional game systems via the six individual switch outputs. This key or the system key is built into a jack. This key disposes of a 48-bit information storage system whose code is programmed only once by the manufacturer. This 48-bit system theoretically offers you "281 billion" different locking possibilities. Therefore, successful locking by unauthorized persons can be excluded. This has the purpose of preventing manipulations such as drilling of the casing and the short-circuiting of the key contacts. 3.5.2. Advantages of the System With the use of traditional mechanical key switches, the various functions (service, accounting) require several different locks. This solution was expensive and proved insecure in the event of manipulations. 3.5.3. Programming (General) Insert the MASTER 1 key into the microphone socket until the service menu appears on the monitor. You can access the key-programming menu by pressing the Hold 5 button. 3.5.4. Creating a New Key If the key-programming menu is displayed on the monitor, insert the key to be programmed into the microphone socket, then choose an available storage location with the Hold 2 and Hold 3 buttons. Press the Hold 1 button; the key is then read. Once the key has been successfully read, the "NO FUNCTION" message appears at the selected storage location. Now give the key the desired function using the Hold 5 button. Press the Start button twice to store the new settings. 3.5.5. Clearing a key If the key-programming menu is displayed, choose the key to be cleared using the Hold 2 and Hold 3 buttons. Now press the Hold 1 button; the key is then cleared. Press the Start button twice to store the new settings. MASTER 1 (black): 3.5.6. Functions of the keys This key is provided for the fitter. It allows him to determine all of the settings and to look at and clear all of the bookkeeping. N.B.: Never remove your MASTER 1 key without first creating a copy of the MASTER 1 key. You cannot cancel the clearance thereof at a later date. The result of this is that it is impossible to create an additional MASTER 1 key. MASTER 2 (red): This key is provided for the technician. It allows him to determine all of the settings; however, not all of the bookkeeping can be looked at or cleared. MASTER 3 (blue): This key is provided for the cashier. It allows him to look at and clear all of the bookkeeping except for the security bookkeeping. MASTER 4 (green): This key is provided for the bar manager or amusement arcade supervisor. It only allows him to look at and clear depending the settings the rental and service bookkeeping. SERVICE 1 6 (white): This key is provided for the service personal in order to add credits to or deduct credits from the machine (only for test purposes) as well as for performing hopper refills (not used in Hot Slots). 3. APPENDIX Hardware : The gameboard is packed in a closed yellow box. Opening the box voids warranty. The volume of the game can be adjusted on this board with a small screwdriver. Technical notes : Using the Service Key (white), the cashier can clear the Hall Of Fame. Put the key in the plug and push the yellow button for about 3 seconds. The Service Key has to be programmed in the keysystem, of course. If this procedure doesn t work, you have to connect the two pins of jumper JP2, most closely to the backdoor. Backdoor The coin acceptor (NRI G13.600x/x) must be programmed with 50 cent (Ch3), 1 Euro (Ch4), 2 Euro (Ch5) and the notereader (JCM-EBA10 or EBA11) must be fitted with the Eurosoftware (downloaden free from www.belcoin.be). Place dips 3 and 8 into the upper position. Other dips down. If your coinacceptor was programmed by BELCOIN, you have to adjust the acceptorchannels on the power supply (Power-K) using the dipswitchblocks (see picture above) like shown on the following tabel. Every dipswitchblock corresponds with a coin-input. The number of credits given for each channel is set in the settingsmenu. With the appropriate dipswitch we select the used acceptor channel. 5. Continuous : After starting a game, every time the player pushes the start-button the symbols will go to the best possible combination. When holding that start-button, all slots will be filled up automatically with the best possible combination. Interaction of the player with the other Slot-buttons is still possible. After game over and when the player holds the start-button, a new game will automatically be started. «Test», when this option is ON, symbols can be substituted one by one with the Start button, for example to show the working of the Hot Bonus (N.B. : Only for test purposes) «Clear Test Credits», if ON : credits on the creditmeter can be cleared with service key. This can be usefull when testing coin- and/or bill-acceptors. While using the service key (white), push button 1 for about 3 seconds to clear the credits.
