5 Scope The preset documet specifies the techicl requiremets for the rdited emissio mesuremet procedure for physiclly lrge systems used withi the telecommuictio etwork, with the exceptio of rdio equipmet. It pplies to physiclly lrge systems which re comprised of equipmet (or systems) requirig istlltio documettio specific for those sites t which they re to be istlled. I order to demostrte complice of such systems, miimum represettive system is defied, which is used for complice testig. Istlltios built from uits of the complyig miimum represettive system re deemed to stisfy the rdited emissio requiremets. The miimum represettive system is represettive of istlled systems i terms of fuctio (which icludes t lest oe of ech fuctiol uit type) d electromgetic rditio chrcteristics. The miimum represettive system is subsequetly referred to i the preset documet s the Equipmet Uder Test (EUT), to be used for complice testig. Determitio of miimum represettive system The miimum represettive system is represettive of istlled systems i terms of fuctio (which icludes t lest oe of ech fuctiol uit type) d electromgetic rditio chrcteristics. This shll be equipped to t lest the miimum cofigurtio which could be offered for sle for use s ctul system. It excludes y opertiol equipmet coected for the purpose of moitorig or system mesuremets d which re coected for temporry period. A exmple of how the EUT is to be selected is give i figure. Miimum represettive systems shll be tested o Ope Are Test Site (OATS) or i suitble chmber, the limits to be used re those s specified i EN 550 []. 4. New fuctiol modules Fuctiol modules used i the system tests my be idividully chrcterized i defied test fcility (see subcluse 5.). This chrcteriztio my the be used s referece to determie the effect of y sigifict desig chges. Usig this techique, the performce of ew fuctiol modules my be ssessed d the test pl writte i such wy s to demostrte tht the represettive system cotiues to coform whe fuctiol module hs bee replced by ew fuctiol module. The results obtied for ew fuctiol modules shll be compred with those from the previous module. The mufcturer shll clerly demostrte d documet the resos why ew fuctiol module does ot require complete represettive system re-test. If the module costitutes mjor chge to the system cofigurtio, complete represettive system test shll be performed. 5 Geerl opertiol coditios 5. Equipmet cofigurtio The EUT shll coform to the mufcturer's orml istlltio prctice. There exists for ech EUT miimum set of iterfce lies which is required for the opertio of the system d this umber shll be defied for ech EUT d idetified i the test report. Equipmet boudry For the purpose of defiig the system boudry from which the test distce is tke, the equipmet boudry shll be the stright lie evelope roud the EUT; this icludes the cbles specified for ttchmet to the EUT for the purpose of test. Mesuremet distces re to be tke from this lie. 5. Equipmet cble lyout 5.. Itr-system cblig All cbles iterl to the system, d used for its opertio, shll be coected d be of such legth d type required for the orml opertio of the system. These shll be routed i ccordce with the relevt system istlltio istructios, such tht these re typicl of istlled system. The system shll ormlly be cofigured i ccordce with EN 550 [] requiremets for floor stdig equipmet. A ltertive set-up usig rised floor is cceptble for systems operted i this wy. If rised floor systems re to be chrcterized s the worst cse d used for testig, d if the iter-uit cble routig is ito the rised floor system, the effect of the rised floor system shll be exmied. The rised floor shll be left i plce if it forms prt of the system scree, but where the rised floor is ot iteded to be used s scree, the i order to prevet ccidetl screeig of emissios, the floor pels shll be removed for the durtio of the test. 5.. Iterfce cblig Cbles betwee the system, the distributio poit d exterl uits, shll be of the type s specified by the system supplier or s detiled by customer requiremets, d shll follow the relevt system istlltio prctice. Cre shll be tke to esure tht oise from the test d exercisig equipmet does ot cotribute to the emissios from the represettive system. The method of oriettig d termitig the cbles shll be oted i the test report. The emissio cotributios from the system, cbles d distributio poit (where ll of these elemets re ivolved) re difficult to seprte; there re two cses to be cosidered: ) uscreeed cble systems; ) screeed cble systems. Screeig is chieved by oe of two methods: ) by use of screeed cblig; b) by the use of screeed floor or ducted systems i which uscreeed cblig is ru. Mesuremet of these istlltio prctices is performed s described i subcluses 5... d 5... 5... Uscreeed cble systems Wherever the distributio poit is locted, mesuremet shll be mde usig legth of uscreeed cblig cofigured s described i subcluses 5... d 5... Beyod this miimum legth, the cblig shll be tke off the mesuremet site below the groud ple to the exercisig equipmet. Where the system supplier or customer do ot specify cble supports, the o-coductig uscreeed cble supports shll be used. The height d positio of the cbles shll be oted i the test report (see figure ). The cblig shll be tke off the mesuremet site below the groud ple to the exercisig equipmet. Where this is ot prcticble, the cblig my ru i screeed sleevig which is boded to the mesuremet site groud ple. 5... Rised floors Where rised floor system is used (but the rised floor does ot form prt of the scree) the ll cblig shll drop through the rised floor towrds the groud ple d ru perpediculrly from the EUT i the horizotl ple for,5 m, the rised floor beig removed (see subcluse 5..). The cblig shll the be tke off the mesuremet site below the groud ple to the exercisig equipmet. Where this is ot prcticble, the cblig my ru i screeed sleevig which is boded to the mesuremet site groud ple. All exposed, uscreeed cblig, shll be o support t height of 0 cm (see figure 3). The support shll be of the type specified by the system supplier, or s detiled by customer requiremets, d shll follow the relevt system istlltio prctice. Where the system supplier or customer do ot specify cble supports, the o-coductig, uscreeed cble supports shll be used. 5... Screeed cble systems Where screeed cblig system is used throughout the istlltio, cblig typicl of the istlltio prctice shll be used durig testig. Coxil cbles coected to the system is exmple of screeed cblig. Where screeed cblig is used betwee system d uscreeed distributio poit, d uscreeed cblig is used beyod tht poit, the test cofigurtio shll be dopted which exposes the uscreeed cblig to the mesuremet te. This shll be chieved by rrgig the EUT with uscreeed distributio poit locted t the closest possible poit to the system d formig prt of the EUT. The uscreeed cblig shll the be exposed, followig the priciples s defied i subcluse 5... The legth of screeed cblig betwee the system d the uscreeed distributio poit shll be the miimum legth which could be used o y rel istlltio. This miimum legth shll be defied by the system supplier d the excess legth shll be budled for low iductce. This legth should be 0 m, uless otherwise specified. Figure 4 shows exmple of such test set-up. 5.3 Exercisig equipmet The exercisig equipmet shll be sufficietly isolted from the EUT such tht the exercisig equipmet does ot sigifictly ifluece the test results. 5.4 Lbortory eviromet Uless otherwise specified, the test eviromet shll coform to the mufcturer's opertig climtic coditios for the equipmet.
9 6 Test results report The test report shll iclude ll test coditios d results together with the methods of test used. The selectio shll show tht the fuctiol uits so tested re those tht would form the bsis of miimum istllble system. Icluded i the test report shll be: ) selectio procedure for the EUT; b) resos for the selectio of those fuctiol uits; c) descriptio of cble lyout, detils of the distributio poit, if used; d) descriptio of ctios tke to mximize the emissios from the EUT; e) descriptio of the exercisig equipmet used to exercise the EUT; f) detiled descriptio of the opertiol modes of the EUT used durig the tests; g) descriptio of the test coditios icludig photogrphs d pl of the site d EUT where pproprite; h) the test results; i) sttemet regrdig the clibrtio sttus of the test equipmet; j) descriptio of the test site; k) detiled descriptio of the equipmet comprisig the EUT; l) descriptio of the softwre used to exercise the EUT. 7 Test site requiremets Whe testig lrge systems, cosiderble problems my be ecoutered whe usig most commercilly vilble sites, oe of which is the determitio of system emissios i the presece of lrge mbiet sigls. Most vilble techiques re ot suitble sice: ) the EUT cot esily be switched o or off; b) movig the receive te closer to the EUT is ot fesible due to the restricted cpture of the emissios from lrge EUTs by the te. Furthermore, for resos of ecoomy, it my be desirble to mesure rdited emissio d test of rdited immuity t the sme fcility. The test equipmet to be used d the coditios of the test site re described i EN 550 [], d CISPR 6- []. Figure 5 is exmple of mesuremet rrgemet which gives the miimum dimesios of OATS. The test site shll meet the site tteutio requiremets of CISPR 6- [].
0 8 Mesuremet method The EUT shll be workig i ccordce with its fuctiol specifictio, d should be exercised s fully s ecessry durig testig, to esure tht the mximum emissios re chieved. Where the EUT is ot cpble of beig mouted o tur-tble, it shll be ssembled o the groud ple (but isolted from it). Where the represettive system my be mouted o lrge pltform, the pltform shll be sufficietly rigid to crry the EUT without udue flexig. The pltform will eed to be efficietly erthed to the groud ple d its mximum height will ot exceed 400 mm. The EUT will be isulted from the pltform d erthed, followig orml equipmet erthig istlltio procedures. The te shll be sced i height betwee oe d four metres i order to mximize the level of the received emissios. Mesuremet shll be mde i both horizotl d verticl polriztios. The te shll be plced t 0 m from the border of the EUT, with cble lyout s described i subcluse 5. d with referece to figures, 3, 4. The mesuremets shll be performed ccordig to the followig procedures (the method used shll be idicted i the test report): - mesuremet of the emissio ptter shll be mde t eight eqully spced rdils; - the mesuremet shll be performed i oly oe directio. I this cse the EUT shll meet the specified limits mius 0 db. The mesuremet directio shll be chose s tht cosidered to be likely to produce the worst cse emissios (results from previous pre-complice or shieldig effectiveess tests, etc. c be used to help determie this). The directio chose shll be idicted i the test report.
