Articles f particular interest in Mississippi are especially encuraged. Research papers are reprts f riginal research. Submissin f a manuscript implies that the paper has nt been published and is currently at the time f submissin being cnsidered fr publicatin elsewhere. At least ne f the authrs must be a member f the Academy, and all authrs are encuraged t jin. Manuscripts. Submit the manuscript electrnically t the Mississippi Academy f Sciences under yur prfile in the member lcatin f the website. Please als prvide a cver letter t the Editr f the Jurnal. The cver letter shuld authrize publicatin: give the full names, cntact infrmatin, fr all authrs; and indicate t whm the prfs and crrespndence shuld be sent. Please ntify the Editr n any changes prir t publicatin. Manuscripts must adhere t the fllwing frmat: One inch margins n 8.5 x 11 inch paper; Text shuld be left-justified using twelve pint type; Duble spaced thrughut, including the title and abstract; Arabic numerals shuld be used in preference t wrds when the number designates anything that can be cunted r measured (7 samples, 43 species) with 2 exceptins: T begin a sentence (Twenty-ne species were fund in ) When 2 numeric expressins are adjacent in a sentence. Describe the knwledge and literature that gave rise t the questin examined by, r the hypthesis psed fr the research. Materials and methds. This sectin shuld describe the research design, the methds and materials used in the research (subjects, their selectin, equipment, labratry r field prcedures), and hw the findings were analyzed. Results. The text f the results shuld be a descriptive narrative f the main findings, f the reprted study. This sectin shuld nt list tabulated data in text frm. Reference t tables and figures included in this sectin shuld be made parenthetically in the text. Discussin. In this sectin cmpare and cntrast the data cllected in the study with that previusly reprted in the literature.
