Welcome to Weebly Setting up Your Website Write your username here: You will need to remember enter this username each time you log in, so you may want to write it somewhere else that is safe and easy to find (for example, in your agenda). Step 1. Logging Into Your Account 1. Go to www.students.weebly.com 2. Type in your username and the password: Clementine Step 2. Change Your Password 1. Click on Account Settings. 2. Click on Change your Password. 3. Type in a new password. Make sure it is something you will remember. You could make it the same as your clement or email password, if you wanted. 4. Click Save. Step 3. Create Your Site. 1. Click on Create a Site. 2. Type in a title for your site. Don t worry you can change this later if you want. 3. Click continue. 4. Congratulations, your site is born!

Your page should look something like the one in the next image. You will use the toolbar at the top of the page to make most of your edits. Step 4. Protect your Privacy. 1. Click on Design in the top tabs. 2. Click on Design Options 3. Under Design elements, turn off social media icons and phone number field. Step 5 - Pick a Theme 1. Stay in the Design tab, and select All Themes. 2. This will bring you to a screen where you can see all the possible themes for your website. These themes will set the colors, fonts and style that your website follows. Choose whichever one you like the best today, because you can always change it later! 3. Click Preview Theme and then Use Theme when you find one you like.

Step 5 - Create Your Pages 1. Click on Pages (it s circled in the picture below). Right now, you just have your home page. You want to add a page for your social studies project, and one for your Art portfolio. 2. Click on Add Page twice (so you can add two pages). 3. Give your page a name, and choose a layout (this just determines what your page will look like - pick whichever one you like the best). 4. You page already has a password, so you can skip the rest of those boxes. 5. Click your second new page, and give it a name. **Notes** You can create sub-pages, by clicking a page in this list and dragging it to the right (while you still clicking down) so it looks indented. 6. Click Save Settings.

Step 6 - Changing Pictures 1. You can change pictures on your site by clicking the orange Edit Image box that will appear when you put your cursor on any picture. 2. Click on Add Image to add a new picture. 3. A) You can upload an image from your computer - it s a lot like adding an attachment to and email. B) You can search for images by clicking on the magnifying glass. C) You can copy a link from a picture online. You need to be careful doing this because your link must end in.jpg,.gif or.png for this to work. If you find a picture that you like that doesn t end in one of these ways, you can save it onto you desktop and upload it by clicking on My Computer 4. You can add text, crop, and edit your photos by using the buttons at the top. You can also layer several pictures to make a collage-like look. Don t worry if you picture hangs over the edge of the rectangle, this won t show up on your page. 5. Click Ok at the bottom right. 6. Click Save at the top right. You can decide if you want to save this image for just this one page - or click on as default header and this will be you image for all your pages.

Step 7 - Adding Elements Now you site is ready for you to start adding content. The options you have, are called Elements. You can add them from the toolbar at the type of your page. It should look something like this: To add an element: 1. Choose the type of element you want from the toolbar. 2. Click and hold the one you want and drag it to where you want it to be on your page. 3. Wait for a second, and it should show up. 4. Now you can start typing, uploading a picture or file, or whatever else you want. There are lost of options for how you can layout your pages, play around and see what you can come up with! Step 8 - Publishing your Website (Hooray!) Publishing your Website posts it to the internet. You can publish your website as often as you want, whenever you add or change something. The first time, you will need to choose the url (it s like a link) where your page will live. You can share this link with your parents and classmates so they can see you page too. Just click this Publish button whenever you want to update your site. You ll see it at the top right of the page.

The first time you publish your site, you will see a box that looks like this one where you can choose the link where you page will live. You need to pick a name that is easy for you to remember, and is not being used by any other Weebly-ers. DO NOT USE YOUR FULL NAME for this. You could use a combination of your first name and last initial - or a meaningful number to you (but not anything personal like your phone number or address). Once you have chosen you domain, click Continue. Weebly will publish your website to the internet, and you will see this message. Please do not share your website on Facebook or Twitter. Remember our class is sharing a password for all our sites, so you should not share this with people outside of our class (except your family). You can click on this sign to see what your website will look like to other people. Remember, our class password is Clementine.
