What s up party people? So glad you can make it today. I m (leader name) and I can t wait to unpack all the things we have in store. And since this series is a game show theme, I thought we could start off with a quick game. This game is called Pig Race. Pick your pig and see if they are the winner of the race. Nice! My pig (mention if they won or lost) Now for this series we ve been talking about a pretty big word called contentment. Let s go over what it means together! ELEM More WK 3 (1) Contentment is deciding to be okay with what you have. POP QUIZ time! Now you may be confused as to what s happening. Like I ve told you before, since we re in our game show theme for More or Less, we have some fun games in store. Now any good game show has a game buzzer. And for this game, you need to be the first person to hit your game buzzer, AND answer my question correctly. I ll be asking a total of 4 questions. If you get a question right, you get a prize. I need four contestants for this game. ELEM More WK 3 (2) Host or small group leader chooses 4 kids to play Let s play! Have kids stand in front of a buzzer/ Host leads game and awards prize to each question winner. Alright, here we go: 1. True or False: When we studied Nehemiah last month, we learned that he wanted to rebuild the Leaning Tower of Pisa? (False- He wanted to rebuild the wall in Jerusalem) 2. Your parents just bought you some new clothes. But when you go to school, you notice your friend has some new clothes too. And they look a little cooler than your clothes. In order to show you re content, you can: ELEM More WK 3 (3) A. Run home and tell your mom you want to return your clothes and get what your friend has. B. Don t worry about it. You are happy with the clothes you have. C. Look up even cooler outfits and beg your parents to buy them. (B. Don t worry about it. You are happy with the clothes you have.) 3. True or False: God wants us to collect as many things as we can. The MORE the BETTER! (False- He doesn t want money or things to rule over your life) 4. True or False: When we are angry because things aren t going our way, that s how we show we re content. (False) ELEM More WK 3 (4)

Thank you for playing Pop Quiz! Now, all of us have maybe wanted something from a store or something we saw on TV, but how about this? Have you ever wanted something that somebody ELSE has so badly that it totally ruins your day? Or puts you in a bad mood? Or makes you think less about what you already have? This kid wanted something from the store, but when his mom said no, well I ll let you see for yourself That was NOT cool. I repeat, NOT cool. I think all of us, whether or not we remember it, threw some temper tantrums. ELEM More WK 3 (5) In God s Word, we can learn from people who did some amazingly great things with their lives, but sometimes we can learn from those who made mistakes, too. Whoa! That story was intense! A lot of times WE wish we had what other people have. You might not want your neighbor s vineyard, but you might wish you had your friends toys, their clothes, or even their talents. It s so important for us to choose to be content with what we have, because Say it with me Wanting what others have can make you miserable! ELEM More WK 3 (6) Hopefully, we ll never go as far as Ahab. King Ahab convinced himself that what he wanted was more important than everything else even someone else s life! But we know that people are more important than things. If wanting stuff starts to hurt others or hurt you, it s definitely not okay. When you start to feel jealous, I think the very best thing you can do in those situations is to talk to God. Ask Him to help you be happy for the other person, and ask Him to help you be content with what you have. In fact, let s pray to Him now! ELEM More WK 3 (7) God, thank You for the story of King Ahab, Jezebel, Naboth, and Elijah. Thank You for all of the important things we can learn from it. Help us to learn to be content with the things that You ve given us, instead of always wanting what someone else has. Help us to be thankful. Help us choose to be okay with what we have. We love You, and we pray in Jesus name, amen. Our worship song today will actually remind us to be content with what God has given us. Let s get up on our feet and worship Him! When you realize that God gives you everything you need, you don t feel like you have to hold on to things so tightly. That even includes our money. Elem More WK 3 (8)

When you re grateful for what you have, you want to give back, and you can do that through offering. God wants us to love people the way He loves people. But we can t love others when all we feel is jealousy and anger. God can help us kick out those bad feelings and instead love and serve others. Now there are quite a few announcements, so sit tight. For the month of October, we are continuing our Family Mission-Canned Collection! More WK 3 (9) We have been collecting cans of cranberry and cans of corn. Our church packs Thanksgiving baskets for those families who can t afford Thanksgiving dinner, so these cans would go in that basket. Once you ve completed the Family Mission, let your Way Station or Small Group leader know, so you can receive a pin! Drop off any cans at a CF Kids Drop Spot! During the month of October, we re also collecting CANDY! Our church is gonna serve others for Halloween in an event called Halloween on the Block. And what do kids like to collect for Halloween? (Candy) So let s serve others by collecting some candy! But no candy with nuts, gum, or chocolate. ELEM More WK 3 (10) At the end of the day, our point is not just to give candy, but to invite people to our church to learn about how much Jesus loves them! And if you bring in candy, you get a SPECIAL EDITION SQUARE candy collection pin! It s never been done before! Which brings us to our final announcement and CHALLENGE! Coming up in 2 WEEKS is our FIRST EVER Great Pumpkin Fest, happening right here in CF Kids! It s gonna be so spectacular with fall games, treats, and loads of FUN. But we don t want you to keep it to yourself. We wanna make sure you invite your family and friends! More WK 3 (11) In fact, if you bring a friend in the month of November, you will get a very cool prize. And not a wimpy prize, or lame candy prize. But a BIG prize, for you AND your friend. So make sure to hand out The Great Pumpkin Fest invites! Thank you for joining me today. See ya next week! More WK 3 (12)
