Why do we need a CRIS Research Assessment In the UK the RAE/REF determines a third of research income more than 1.5/2billion euros 5

But It s not just the REF REF2014 Open Access REF2020, RCUK, OpenAire Open Data Reporting Outcomes Indicators & Metrics Impact 7
Institutional Strategic need Research strategy REF2020 Asset exploitation Open Access, RDM, Impact Promotion and reputation - benchmarking Research income : demand management & compliance 8
Role of the Library We can deliver against these strategic priorities for the Institution 9

Research Data Management Policy [ ] raw and processed data, much of which is valuable and needs to be retained over the long term. [ ] data is managed according to good practices [ ] appropriate for the data and discipline concerned, and thereby to ensure compliance with the requirements of funding agencies and other stakeholders. Principal Investigators should, in the course of formulating their research proposals, develop a management plan for the data to be collected. Data will be deposited into an appropriate long-term archive. The University will maintain a central catalogue of metadata descriptions The University expects that all data will over time be made publicly available wherever possible 22
