Longarm Hands on Classes CW 01 BEGINNERS GUIDE TO FEATHERS R420 MONDAY, 12 SEPTEMBER, 09:30-12:30 Everyone loves feathers well, almost everyone! There are a number of different ways to quilt feathers so we will explore a few alternatives. It can be quite tricky in the beginning but after a few minutes of drawing you ll get the hang of the rhythm and be ready to face the machine! Skills featured: Learning the structure of a feather Drawing different types of feathers Different spine treatments free hand and templates Stitching the perfect feather MB 02 MORE FUN WITH RULERS R420 MONDAY, 12 SEPTEMBER, 13.30-16.30 If you love precision and consistency in your quilting designs, you will love using rulers and templates! These handy tools assist in accurately placing designs and precisely stitching them out. TJ 05 ADVANCED FEATHERS AND THREADS R420 WEDNESDAY, 14 SEPTEMBER, 09:30-12:30 In this class we will focus on applying feather designs to typical block types, as well as sashing and borders. I ll show you how to handle curves and corners as well as using feathers as an all over pattern. We will also look at various vein design options. This class is based on techniques and not a specific project. You do need to know how to free motion quilt as well as quilt the basic feather methods to attend this class. The requirements list will be forwarded once you have booked your class. Notes will be provided. Beginners to Advanced. CW 03 MODERN MEETS TRADITIONAL R420 WEDNESDAY, 14 SEPTEMBER, 13.30-16.30 Modern quilts have several general characteristics: expansive negative space, contemporary designs, no borders, asymmetrical elements, and improvisational piecing. Learn how to adapt traditional quilt designs to modern quilts, using modern tools to create special effects with geometric shapes and updated design elements. CW 04 3 B S: BACKGROUNDS, BORDERS AND BLOCKS R420 THURSDAY, 15 SEPTEMBER, 09:30-12:30 You are the queen of your quilt. Learn to add texture and fluidity to your quilting by changing the size and spacing of freehand designs. See your quilting come alive as you gain confidence in each application.
