Report from Friends Committee Nothing to report for the Friends Committee Building Maintenance The new door for the front of the building has been picked up by installer to be painted and re-sealed. A member inquired about the roof and whether it needs to be an enviroshake approved contractor. N. Jackson responded that it does need to be an enviroshake-approved contractor but the process is not difficult to be approved. Financial One member inquired about the purchase of a battery for over $40. N. Jackson responded that the battery was for the emergency lights and was installed by an arena staff member.

Correspondence/Administrative Issues N. Jackson received the report card from the Community Museum Operating Grant for 2016/17 and the museum received 50/50 for the policies and procedures that were submitted. Museum Chair Matters J. Maurice reminded the group that a new Chair and Vice Chair must be nominated for the 2017 year. He also stated that he would like to keep the museum meetings short and that a lot of issues that are brought up at the meeting should be resolved in smaller sub-committee meetings. He recommended that the sub-committees should precede the general meetings so that members could stay to contribute to a specific event or issue after the general meeting matters are resolved. Curatorial Assistants Report Included in agenda. J. Gadsdon expanded the Remembrance Day program for 2016 and invited Penetanguishene Legion Branch 68 President Dave Sampson to attend. St. Ann s and Burkevale schools attended the programs. Curator s Report Included in the agenda. N. Jackson included a chart of attendance which the members appreciated. N. Jackson included a list of events for 2017, members agreed that they would discuss the fundraising dinner for 2017 in a separate sub-committee meeting. Other Business A sub-committee has been formed for the Canada Day parade. They will be presenting the idea of a parade to the Penetanguishene Youth Council at their next meeting on December 5 th. Meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m. by I. Lau

Curatorial Assistant Advisory Committee Report January 2017 Breakfast with Santa Breakfast with Santa 2016 was very successful with 281 people being served. For the 2nd consecutive year the museum participated in the Santa Claus parade carrying a banner advertising Breakfast. We will continue this practice as it is great exposure for the event. The year 2017 will be the 10th anniversary year for Breakfast with Santa. In order to celebrate the success and make it a special year, the Friends of the Museum have agreed to fund the rental of two live reindeer to be on site, as well as a Santa sleigh for families to have their picture taken in. They will come to us through Tiger Paw Exotics in Alliston. www.tigerpaw.ca Winter Break Activities January 3rd January 6th Jan was on vacation this week, but prior to leaving for vacation planned a number of activities including games and crafts, for kids to do between 10-noon each day.
