Please take a moment to review the below list of upcoming activities. We hope to see you at some or all of these future events. 1) We have two meetings scheduled for April 04/12 in Greenville and 04/13 in Asheville. 2) ASHRAE Spring Golf Tournament Monday, April 18th 11:00shotgun start - Musgrove Mill Golf Club 3) MCA Clay s for College Friday, April 22nd 11:30 to 5:30 The Clinton House We still need volunteers for next year s Board of Governors and committees. Student Activity Chair Clemson University's ASHRAE and ASME chapters were proud to co-sponsor the ASHRAE/ASME Job Fair. This event was open to all GE, ME, Civil, and Construction Science Undergrad and Grad students. It was a chance for students to learn about companies and career paths that they might not have considered previously, especially in ASRHAE related fields. We received positive feedback from most of the 11 companies and around 120 students that attended. April Meeting Presenter: Kevin W. Brock, PE, CPMP, BEMP, Member ASHRAE Kevin Brock is a Consultant with DNV GL, an international engineering and management consulting firm, working out of his home in Waynesville, NC. Mr. Brock works with utilities in the design and implementation of energy efficiency incentive programs. In his career he served as a Navy officer on destroyers; a consultant in Navy shipboard equipment maintenance; a maintenance engineer in a manufacturing facility; a construction administrator, project manager, and commissioning agent in an MEP design firm. He holds a B.S. in Marine Engineering from the US Naval Academy, and is completing an M.S. in Sustainability Studies from Lenoir-Rhyne University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in North Carolina, and holds ASHRAE Certifications as a Building Energy Modeling Professional (BEMP) and Commissioning Process Management Professional (CPMP). LECTURE TOPIC: Strategic Energy Management Applying principles of continuous improvement to energy use Strategic Energy Management (SEM) establishes an organizational framework to apply the principles of continuous improvement to energy use. The presentation will focus on two approaches to SEM: ISO50001, and the ENERGY STAR Challenge for Industry. We will also discuss how utilities are incorporating SEM into their energy efficiency incentive programs.
