Page 2 Revision No. 10 Date 2014-04-28 1. Scope It must be possible to identify a material, requiring a test certificate, by the certificate issued. Required marking of raw material as well as the re-marking of material that is divided is described in the following parts. The following information shall be stated on the drawings: Marking according to The position of the marking shall be indicated with an arrow on the drawing. Note! Heat numbers and heat codes may only contain alphanumeric characters. 2. Material categories Paragraph 2.1-2.4 shall individually be applied, based on the product designation on the drawing. 2.1 Pressure equipment material except fasteners, pipes, flanges and casted parts For pressure equipment material, where an inspection document according to EN 10204 is required, the material must be marked according to paragraph 2.1.1 (for Inspection Certificate 3.1) and 2.1.3 (for Test Report 2.2) and be in compliance with the information in the certificate. When dividing or machining of the material, see paragraph 2.1.2 (for I. C. 3.1) and 2.1.4 (for T. R. 2.2). be carried out or verified by the purchasers authorized inspection representative, as specified by Alfa Laval, or the inspector designated in the official regulations. 2.1.1 The material manufacturer s marking / I. C. 3.1 * Test no. (only for plate), see note 1 * The manufacturer s inspectors stamp Additional marking, such as treatment conditions etc., shall also be applied when required by the material specification.

Page 3 Revision No. 10 Date 2014-04-28 2.1.2 Re-marking / I. C. 3.1 Material which are machined or divided so that the marking disappears must be re-marked. Therefore the drawing must state where the marking shall be placed with regard to machining. * Test no. (only for plate), see note 1 * A re-stamping certificate has to be issued making the link between original marking and marking stamped on divided parts. 2.1.3 The material manufacturer s marking / T. R. 2.2 2.1.4 Re-marking / T. R. 2.2 * The processors identification/ trademark or alternatively the control stamp from the re-marker. 2.2 Fasteners For fasteners, for example bolts, screws and nuts, where an inspection document according to EN 10204 is required, the material must be marked according to paragraph 2.2.1 (for Inspection Certificate 3.1) and 2.2.3 (for Test Report 2.2) and be in compliance with the information in the certificate. When dividing or machining of the material, see paragraph 2.2.2 (for I. C. 3.1) and 2.2.4 (for T. R. 2.2). be carried out or verified by the purchasers authorized inspection representative, as specified by Alfa Laval, or the inspector designated in the official regulations. 2.2.1 The material manufacturer s marking / I. C. 3.1 or property class For fasteners <M24 / 1-8UNC, the Charge/Heat no. marking may be given on the package/container.

Page 4 Revision No. 10 Date 2014-04-28 2.2.2 Re-marking / I. C. 3.1 Material which are machined or divided so that the original marking disappears must be re-marked. Therefore the drawing must state where the marking shall be placed with regard to machining. or property class For fasteners <M24 / 1-8UNC, the Charge / Heat no. marking may be given on the package/container. 2.2.3 The material manufacturer s marking / T. R. 2.2 or property class 2.2.4 Re-marking / T. R. 2.2 or property class * The processors identification/ trade mark or alternatively the control stamp from the re-marker. 2.3 Flanges The flanges shall be marked according to the relevant international product standard. However, as a minimum, the required marking in 2.3.1-2.3.4, as applicable, shall be included. For flanges, where an inspection document according to EN 10204 is required, the material must be marked according to paragraph 2.3.1 (for Inspection Certificate 3.1) and 2.3.3 (for Test Report 2.2) and be in compliance with the information in the certificate. When dividing or machining of the material, see paragraph 2.3.2 (for I. C. 3.1) and 2.3.4 (for T. R. 2.2). be carried out or verified by the purchasers authorized inspection representative, as specified by Alfa Laval, or the inspector designated in the official regulations.
