HISTORY Since 1972, Sterling Equities (SE) and its affiliates have purchased or developed over 23.3 million SF of commercial property, 57,800 residential units, 8.7 million SF of retail property and four major sports complexes. Formed the Brooklyn Cyclones, as an affiliate of the New York Mets. The team plays at MCU Park, which was constructed by executives, now currently part of the Sterling Project Development Group. 2002: SE becomes full owner of the New York Mets. 2002: SE funds Sterling Stamos Capital (SSC), and keeps a limited partner interest. 2005: SportsNet New York (SNY), a regional sports network in the New York tri-state area, is formed by SE in partnership with Time Warner Cable and Comcast Corporation. 2007: Sterling American Property, Inc. launches Sterling American Property V, a $609 million private equity real estate fund. 2010s 2010: SE forms Sterling Project Development Group ("SPD") to formally brand its project consulting expertise. In 2000, he co-founded and became Chairman of the Brooklyn Cyclones. Mr. Wilpon's background includes extensive experience in all aspects of the real estate industry, as well as serving as the Senior Executive of many diversified businesses. Mr. Wilpon received a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Michigan. SaulB.Katz, Co-Founder and President Saul B. Katz is Co-Founder and President of Sterling Equities. As Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Katz directs Sterling's day-to-day real estate operations. Mr. Katz also presides over Sterling's non-real estate affiliates and subsidiary companies, which range from financial institutions to manufacturing, consulting, entertainment and retailing enterprises. Mr. Katz is President of the New York Mets and the Brooklyn Cyclones. Mr. Katz serves as Chair of the Board of the North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System, as well as serving as a Board member of many nonprofit organizations and institutions. He is a Certified Public Accountant with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, which he received from Brooklyn College. MichaelKatz, Senior Executive Michael Katz joined Sterling Equities in 1973 and currently serves as a Senior Executive. He is Co-Chief Executive Officer of the Sterling American Funds with day-to-day responsibility for the management of their investments. Mr. Katz is a member of the Board of Directors of the New York Mets. He also serves on the Board of the North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System, the JCCA and is a Board member of many nonprofit organizations and institutions. He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Bernard M. Baruch College.
RichardA.Wilpon, Senior Executive Richard A. Wilpon joined Sterling Equities in 1972 and currently serves as Senior Executive. He is also Co-Chief Executive Officer of the Sterling American Funds, with day-to-day responsibility for the management of its investments as well as overseeing all real estate acquisitions and dispositions. Mr. Wilpon serves on the Board of Directors of the New York Mets as well as the Boards of various professional, civic and charitable organizations. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Brooklyn College. DavidM.Katz, Executive David M. Katz joined Sterling Equities in 1987 and serves as Executive. Mr. Katz has developed commercial and residential properties, overseen condominium conversions, and evaluates acquisition opportunities. He also presides over Sterling's non-real estate affiliate companies. Additionally, Mr. Katz is a Board member of the New York Mets, and a Board member of Twistage, a white label video platform. Mr. Katz participates in numerous civic and philanthropic organizations. Mr. Katz is the President of the Henry Kaufmann campgrounds (HKC). The HKC is a 501 that gives a day camp experience to approximately 8,000 children a day during the summer months. Mr. Katz is also a Trustee for the North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System, and also sits on the Boards of various other philanthropic organizations. Mr. Katz received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Hofstra University. ThomasOsterman, Executive Thomas Osterman joined Sterling Equities in 1975 and currently serves as Executive. He has overseen the development and construction of 1.6 million square feet of commercial and residential properties in Manhattan. His primary responsibilities include the repositioning and strategic management of Sterling American Funds'assets. He also served as CEO for Sterling's out-of-state real estate profit-centers. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the New York Mets and participates in and is a board member of numerous civic and philanthropic organizations. Mr. Osterman is a Beyer, Mellon and Rockefeller Fellow, and holds a Master's Degree in Urban & Regional Planning and a Master's Degree in Public Administration. JeffreyS.Wilpon, Executive Jeffrey S. Wilpon serves as Executive of Sterling Equities. He has a 25-year history of actively supervising major new building construction. His most recent relevant projects include the development and construction of 383 Madison Avenue in New York City as well as Citi Field in Flushing Queens. He also has extensive experience in overseeing major school, entertainment and tenant installations as well as the transactional aspects of such projects. Mr. Wilpon is the Senior Executive and Chief Operating Officer of the New York Mets, where he oversees the team's day-today baseball and business operation and the Mets Foundation. Mr. Wilpon also serves as the Senior Executive and Chief Operating Officer of the Brooklyn Cyclones, where he worked in
partnership with the City of New York to oversee the planning, design and construction of MCU Park, the Cyclones'ballpark. Additionally, he is the Chief Operating Officer of the Mets Development Company and Queens Ballpark Company, L.L.C., a wholly owned subsidiary of the New York Mets, responsible for the planning, design, development and construction of Citi Field. He also serves on the boards of the MLB Network and Major League Baseball Enterprises as well as on the Boards of other nonprofit organizations and institutions. In 1983 he was drafted as a catcher by the Montreal Expos. GregoryA.Katz, Gregory A. Katz joined Sterling Equities in 2001. Mr. Katz's real estate experience includes the acquisition and disposition of multifamily, commercial and retail properties as well as arranging financing for Sterling American Fund assets. Prior to joining Sterling, he was an associate at a major development company based in New York City where he specialized in retail-anchored, mixed-use projects. Mr. Katz holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. MarvinB.Tepper, Partner Marvin B. Tepper is a Partner of Sterling Equities. Mr. Tepper has over 30 years of experience in legal, finance, tax and investment matters. Prior to Sterling, he was senior partner in a New York law firm where he built an extensive practice in real estate, corporate and commercial matters. He is Chairman of the Board of Zoning and Appeals of the Village of Sands Point and participates in various other civic and philanthropic organizations.
