Introduction Korea Veterans Association of Canada Ontario Region Newsletter www.kvacanada.com April 1 st. 2013 Some members of the committee that are organising the commemorative event for July 27 th have been receiving enquiries, asking if the event will still take place now that North Korea have nullified the cease-fire agreement. The event will take place as usual. Details are listed below. This year tickets for the luncheon should be ordered directly, by individuals one, veteran and guest. Last year we accepted bulk orders for tickets, many were not used and were returned on the day of the ceremony, and it was impossible to notify people on the waiting list., a number of tickets went to individuals who were not Korea Veterans. Registration will commence on April 15 th, tickets will be mailed out in June. Closing date for registrations will be July 12 th. From the Memory Project: The Memory Project is still looking for veterans who are willing to share their Korean War experiences. In 2013, the Year of the Korean War Veteran, the Memory Project will honour these veterans by recording 516 Korean War veterans stories one veteran for every Canadian who lost his life in Korea. To date the Memory Project has interviewed 425 Korea War veterans in Canada. We need your help to reach our goal,. Miscellaneous A weekend in Honour of Korea War Veterans To mark 2013 as the Year of the Korean War Veterans, Veterans Affairs Canada is pleased to organize a weekend of activities for Korean War Veterans in the National Capital Region from June 21 to 23. Events to include, among others, the launch of a new Canadian War Museum photo exhibition on the Korean War, viewing of the Korean War Book of Remembrance, and a ceremony at the National War Memorial. Travel and accommodation are at the participants cost, weekend programming costs are covered by Veterans Affairs Canada and partners. Then he takes me downstairs and what s there but a beautiful car. a limousine, uniformed chauffer and all. Then he takes me out for dinner marvellous dinner lobster. Then we go o see a show, I enjoyed it so much I could have just died from pleasure! So then we are coming back to my apartment and he turns into an ANIMAL!!!! Completely crazy.
