Part II. Description of Actions Please use the box below to describe the actions your organization has taken in support of th e Global Compact. It is strongly recommended that the actions taken are related to one or more of the specific activities suggested. Please refer to the complete list of suggested activities for your type of organization found here. In Environment sector, IN Consult has implemented several projects including Design and Construction Supervision of 1 st largest Common Effluent Treatment Plant in tanneries in Pakistan, established Cleaner Production Centre to reduce end of the pipe pollutants, recycling treatment facilities, analytical laboratories, IEEs, EIAs etc. In addition, the company has been working to develop National Plans and its implementation for the phasing out of Ozone Depleting Substance in Pakistan as well as in Libya. The implementation of these projects shall results in reduction of Global warming. The estimated net annual reduction in emission is approximately 1.8 Million Ton eq. CO 2. IN Consult has also participated in the consultative meetings on behalf of UN agencies for the amendment of Montreal Protocol for inclusion of HFCs. The professionals of IN Consult has participated in the preparation of MEPS, Labeling of domestic appliances including air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, motors, pumps, fans, lighting in BRESL project for energy conservation in Pakistan. IN Consult has undertaken wide range of activities which promote the Ten Principles of United Nations Global Compact. Few of them are as follows: National HCFC Phase out Management Plan (HPMP) for the provision of consultancy services to prepare Investment Component of the HPMP and five (5) individual/ umbrella projects in the foaming of residential and commercial refrigeration sectors in Pakistan. These industries included Dawlance Karachi, United Refrigeration Industries Ltd., Hyderabad, Shadman Karachi, Haier (HNR), Lahore and Varioline Lahore. UNIDO Project MP/PAK/08/004. HCFC Phase out Management Plan for Pakistan Stage-2. This included preparation of investment proposals in foam sectors as well as refrigeration and air conditioning sector. This also included preparation of HCFC phase-out management plan for Pakistan under Stage-2 of the Montreal Protocol. This project was awarded by UNIDO Headquarter in Vienna under PO # 3000022723. Preparation of HPMP for Libya- a project of UNIDO Provision of consultancy services to carry out additional works to UNEP survey on HCFC consumption and to prepare National HCFC Phase out Management Plan (HPMP) for Pakistan till 2030. UNIDO Project MP/PAK/08/007. Provision of consultancy and technical services, engineering and daily technical supervision of the implementation of investment projects in the refrigeration and foam sector under National HCFC Phase out Management Plan (HPMP) for Pakistan. UNIDO Project Nos. MP/PAK/09/005 & MP/PAK/09/006 Study to establish the Fat Recovery plant from the Lime Fleshing in Kasur under UNIDO Pakistan Contract No. FBPAK09013 dated May 18, 2010. Engineering, design and preparation of technical specifications for the Fat Recovery plant from the Lime Fleshing in Kasur. This assignment included procurement of plant and design of civil, mechanical, electrical, public health works- Project No. FB/PAK/09/013. UNIDO Contract NO. 16002186.

Provision of services relating to the one UN programme for Pakistan: Joint Programme C.5 "Environment" Support for Green Industries, waste management, energy and jobs- Project No. FB/PAK/09/013. UNIDO Contract NO. 718026622 Design and engineering services to M/s. Breeze Frost Industries Limited Lahore to Phase out an Ozone Depleting Substance (ODS). This project included selection of equipment, development of specifications, preparation of tender document, Tender Evaluation and construction supervision. This project was funded though the multilateral fund for the implementation of Montreal Protocol Design and engineering services to M/s. Hirra Farooq Limited Lahore to Phase out an Ozone Depleting Substance (ODS). This project included selection of equipment, development of specifications, preparation of tender document, Tender Evaluation and construction supervision. This project was funded though the multilateral fund for the implementation of Montreal Protocol Design and engineering services to M/s. Zafa Chemie, a pharmaceutical company in Lahore to Phase out CTC to DCE in their process. This project included selection of process and equipment, development of specifications, preparation of tender document, Tender Evaluation and construction supervision. This project was funded though the multilateral fund for the implementation of Montreal Protocol Climate and Social Assessment (CSA) study for Sialkot Tannery Zone (STZ), a project of UNIDO Vienna. National Survey for HFCs in Pakistan National Survey of Ozone Depleting Substances alternative to ODS for Libya Diagnostic Study in 10 different industrial Clusters in Punjab including Plastic Furniture, Kitchen ware, Sanitary Fittings, Ceramics, Light Engineering, Domestic Electrical Appliances and Agri implements. Assessment Study of 07 Cluster Development Centers (CDCs) in Punjab Beside above projects, IN Consult has conducted several consultative, training and capacity building workshops during the last 10 years. Measurement of Outcomes Please use the box below to include the most relevant qualitative and/or quantitative indicators to measure the outcome of the activities described in Part II above. The all above activities have yielded both quantitative and qualitative outcomes. 31 projects have been implemented during the last 10 years to phase out CTC to non- ozone depleting substance. Five projects have been implemented during the last 5 years to phase out HCFC-141b to Cyclopentane (non-ods gas) in the first stage of HPMP with the total phase of 71.7 ODPT HCFCs. As a result, 533,000 CO2 eq. MT/ year have been reduced. During the second stage of HPMP, 12 industries have been selected for the conversion from HCFCs to non-ods technology. After implementation of these industries, a total of 66.0 ODPT HCFCs shall be phased out. As a result, 615,000 CO2 eq. MT/ year shall be reduced. IN Consult participated in the consultative meetings on behalf of UN agencies for the amendment of Montreal Protocol for inclusion of HFCs.
