Mr. James Andrews District 1 James Andrews joined Randolph EMC s Board of Directors in 2000. He is a Credentialed Cooperative Director and has earned his Board Leadership Certification. Because of his financial expertise, Mr. Andrews was appointed in 2004, by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association and Cooperative Finance Corporation to serve on the Capital Credits Advisory Task Force. Mr. Andrews is a native of Alamance County, where he still resides with his wife, Clorinda. He attended Sylvan High School in Snow Camp and East Carolina University, and currently works as a selfemployed Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Bob Wright District 2 Bob Wright is the current President of Randolph Electric Membership Corporation s Board of Directors, representing district 2. He joined the board in 1987, and during his tenure, has served on the North Carolina Electric Membership Corporation Board of Directors. Mr. Wright is a native of Randolph County, where he graduated from Coleridge High School. He then earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is retired from Randolph Hospital where he served as Director of Corporate Compliance/Internal Audit. He also serves as an adjunct faculty member of Randolph Community College and Advisory Board member of First Bank s Asheboro branch office. Mr. Larry Routh District 3 Larry Routh has represented District 3 on Randolph Electric Membership Corporation s Board of Directors since 1983. Mr. Routh is a Credentialed Cooperative Director and has completed his Board Leadership Certification. Mr. Routh is a native of Randolph County where he graduated from Grays Chapel School. He earned his heavy equipment operators certification from the National School of Heavy Equipment, and during his service in the U.S. Army, was certified in missile equipment by the Army Engineering School. In 2004, he retired from General Electric Supply after 34 years of employment. Mr. Routh is currently a co-owner of Ruthless Outdoor Adventures (ROA), which specializes in outdoor adventures in North Carolina and Virginia. Mr. Jerry Bowman District 4 Jerry Bowman is the Vice President of Randolph Electric Membership Corporation s Board of Directors, representing district 4 since 1993. He is the former owner of Stuart-Bowman Auto Centre and has been involved in automobile sales and service since 1964. Mr. Bowman currently serves as a board member of Carolina Bank, is Past President and Red Jacket Club member of the Asheboro/Randolph Chamber of Commerce, and is a charter member and past officer of the Randolph Rotary Club. He and his wife, Wanda, currently reside in Asheboro and are members of Central United Methodist Church. Mr. Delbert Cranford District 5 Delbert Cranford has represented district 5 on Randolph EMC s Board of Directors since 1989. He is a former board member of North Carolina Electric Membership Corporation and the former President of the North Carolina Association of Electric Cooperatives and the National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation (CFC) Board of Directors. Mr. Cranford is a native of Randolph County, where he graduated from Farmer High School. He then earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and currently owns Denton Drug Stores, including five retail stores and two long-term care pharmacies. In his spare time, Mr. Cranford enjoys golfing, motorcycle riding and gardening. He and his wife Cleta, attend the First Assembly of God in Asheboro where Mr. Cranford serves as Deacon and Trustee. Mrs. Sue Spencer District 6 Sue Spencer is a Credentialed Cooperative Director, representing District 6 on Randolph EMC s Board of Directors since 2003, and is currently serving as the board s Secretary-Treasurer. Mrs. Spencer graduated from Seagrove School and then attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she received a B.A. and Master s Degree in Education, and Masters of Library Science degree. Mrs. Spencer held teaching positions at both Asheboro City and Randolph County Schools and served as Director of Media and Technology for Randolph County Schools. Upon retiring from the school system, she taught at UNCG in the Library Science Department and coordinated the School Library Media Program. She is currently retired from UNCG and occasionally works in educational consulting. She and her husband, Bill, currently reside in Seagrove where they attend Seagrove United Methodist Church. Mrs. Tammie Phillips District 7 Tammie Phillips is the Assistant Secretary- Treasurer of Randolph Electric Membership Corporation s Board of Directors, representing district 7 since 2008. Mrs. Phillips attended East Columbus High School and then earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a Concentration in Law and Political Philosophy from North Carolina State University in 1997. She is currently employed by the North Carolina Department of Justice. Mrs. Phillips and her husband, Jonathan, currently reside in Goldsboro with their two children. She attends Tyson s Creek Baptist Church where she is a leader and teacher, and currently assists in coaching the tee ball and boys baseball teams as a member of the Board of Directors of Harper s Crossroads Community Center. Mr. Steve Harris District 8 Steve Harris represents district 8 on Randolph Electric Membership Corporation s Board of Directors. He joined the board in 1990 and currently serves on the North Carolina Electric Membership Corporation s Board of Directors. Mr. Harris graduated from Union Pines High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Engineering from North Carolina State University. He is the second generation owner of Harris & Son Construction Company, Inc. and has served four terms as President of the Moore County Homebuilders Association, served as Vice President of the N.C. Homebuilders Region V and was a member of the Moore County Planning and Zoning Board from 2002 to 2003. Mr. Billy Maness District 9 Billy Maness represents district 9 on Randolph Electric Membership Corporation s Board of Directors, joining the board in 2012. He has also served as a Montgomery County Commissioner for eight years, with five of those years as the Chairman of the Board. Mr. Maness is a native of Montgomery County, where he graduated from West Montgomery High School. He currently works as General Manager of Republic Services in Troy and is the co-owner of Maness Tire and Retreading. In his spare time, Mr. Maness enjoys bird and rabbit hunting, fishing on the coast, and collecting antique cars.
