Thanks Craig From: Craig Liscum Sent: Friday, June 21, 2013 9:55 AM To: John Kehoe (Work); 'Julie Behr (Work)' Cc: Mike Morgan Subject: 766/776 13th Street Building John/Julie Yesterday I met with our contact a Rinderknecht (General Contractor for the new church building). The topic was to gain general, ballpark figure to demolish the Mission Ed building, backfill, and pave the area. He stated that we could add 5 7 additional parking spaces (dependent on how many handicapped) and a 2 lane drop off/drive for Daycare. The rough number he came up with was $30,000. This was based on a current demolition estimate that the What s Next Task Force obtained, from Zinser Demolition, and current rates for backfill and paving. He suggested that if we wish to go further to contact Zinser and a paving company to gain closer numbers. Kneeland, Gerry From: Sent: To: Subject: Importance: Cynthia <cbrnamcf@imonmail.com> Sunday, March 17, 2013 12:52 PM Kneeland, Gerry FUMC Task Force High What to do with our present building. I feel the cost involved to maintain this facility is astronomical and that we would be negligent to assume not only the task of maintaining a new facility but also continue with this site. That is not to say this present site should disappear completely, as I believe there are options. My choice would be, after the removal of all items (i.e. stained glass windows...) deemed worthy of being part of the new facility, that this present building be demolished. Since the property is already FUMC s and this present site has value as a downtown mission site, it only makes sense to keep the property for future development. The needs are plenty: a distribution site for clothing, food, meals, afternoon meetings, prayer studies, accommodations for sleeping... The list of possibilities is endless. As to a future building it would not have to be huge; possibly a two or three story building. An adjacent parking lot would be convenient. I have felt all along that keeping the building as it presently stands defeats the reason we ultimately wanted to move: maintenance, stagnate growth, and lack of close parking.
