JANUARY 2017 Connection The Official Newsletter Of Camp Lindenmere What a day we had at the Funplex! It is always so wonderful for us to be able to make it back up to the Northeast from Florida to see so many of our camp friends. It warms our hearts watching you jump into each other s arms and hearing of the sleepovers the night before. There were so many fun things to do together and it can t get any better than spending a day with your camp friends playing arcade games, riding rides, racing around the go-kart track, challenging each other in laser tag, winning an abundance of tickets, and hearing about what you have been up to since summer. We enjoyed our pizza lunch and ice cream sandwiches while watching the camp slideshow and then taking an amazing group photo! We hope you all loved getting our Lindenmere fuzzy socks and Summer 2016 CD as holiday gifts! The reunion truly helps the long off season feel shorter and continues to build on one of the most rewarding communities to be a part of, CAMP. We hope all who came had as great of a day as we did, and for those of you who couldn t join us, you were missed! We look forward to when we are reunited for summer 2017. NOT LONG NOW!
Recently I saw one of the greatest inventions in the history of man. It was a huge monster bubble maker and my mind instantly went to a beautiful summer day at free play with me in front of G1234 with this monster bubble maker and all my junior girls jumping around trying to get the bubbles. It made me smile for minutes as I was transformed to my favorite place and time. CAMP! Well as the new year turned we are that much closer to being MITCH S CORNER Dear kids, parents & family, A LETTER FROM back in henryvillle, PA. All together with our bunk mates and counselors and all the other people that make camp...camp! For me it s 5+ months to go and the monster bubble maker will make its debut!! More importantly the noise meter will be ready when the buses start to roll into camp and all the fun will begin. I m so grateful to be a part of all the wonders of OUR beautiful camp and all who make it what it is!. With Love, Mitch ODIE, MONICA & Every year we are continually expanding and growing our LT program. We know that many of our LT s have expressed an interest in traveling. What would be better than traveling with all of your camp friends!?! We are excited to announce our new LT Trip for the summer of 2017! Let s go to Boston! The trip will take place during the second session of camp. It will depart camp on Sunday, July 23rd and will return to camp on Tuesday, July 25th. Enjoy a trip with a well-planned itinerary full of fun packed activities and an amazing time with your camp friends! LINDENMERE,,,, MAJORS,,,, INTRODUCING BIGS! WHAT S DIFFERENT Answers from Page 3 We are very excited to announce the start of Camp Lindenmere s Big Program! It will pertain to first time Junior campers (5th grade and below) and our Leadership Training campers (11th & 12th grade). This will help our new campers feel more comfortable to camp and will expand our LTs passion for camp and opportunity for success as they work towards becoming role models, future counselors, and young adults. For first-time Junior campers, parents will be notified of a new form (a questionnaire) on their CampInTouch. It will provide their future Big with a little about themselves and the opportunity to ask him/her some questions they have about camp! Camp will receive the questionnaire and match them with a great fitting LT to become their Big! We will then be mailing the completed Junior Camper questionnaire to the chosen Big, and once they have completed their responses, they will send it back to camp and we will get it to the Junior camper! The communication can continue until summer finally arrives! Always send correspondence directly to camp, and we will get it to your new buddy. Then, when camp is finally here, we will make sure there is a great opportunity for all of our BIG participants to meet! We will be sending emails to all eligible participants with more details. 7
We wanted to announce a new refer a friend program for 2017. We currently receive over 50 new campers from our current or previous families each year. Lindenmere understands that you don t have to make that connection for us but we certainly appreciate that you do. We wanted to think of ways that we could properly thank you and have decided that anyone that refers someone to camp, and they end up enrolling, we will send you a $100 gift card for our camp clothing company Camp Spot. This year we will have many additional newly designed items to choose from for your shopping! Just have your friends let us know that you referred them to us and we will put a gift card in the mail for you! REFER A FRIEND!!!
