Gilliespie Presenting Fishing Adventure Program Jan. 18th SIOUX CITY, Iowa - The Sioux City Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center will present Nice Catch: Photos from My Fishing Adventures with Siouxland photographer Bob Gillespie at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18 at the Betty Strong Encounter Center. Admission will be free. Fishing and photography go hand-in-hand for me, says Gillespie, a long-time member of the Sioux City Camera Club. The photographer will take the audience to some of his most remarkable moments in fishing as captured through his camera lens. The audience will travel with Gillespie to north of the Arctic Circle in Canada and Finland to Belize and to various U.S. locations, including points along Siouxland s stretch of the Missouri River. I ll focus on my recent 10-day trip to the Wyoming Cutt-Slam, says Gillespie. The Cutt-Slam recognizes anglers who catch each of the state s four sub-species of Cutthroat Trout, the only native species in Wyoming. The 45-minute program will showcase dozens of Gillespie s photos, including images of natural beauty. Wyoming, for example, has some gorgeous country, especially the Grand Teton. Page 6 Don Doll Children Portraits Dedication Set for Jan. 11th Sixteen new Children of St. Augustine Indian Mission portraits by award-winning photographer Don Doll, S.J. will be dedicated to the memory of the late Betty Strong at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11 at the Betty Strong Encounter Center. Admission will be free. Visitors will receive the 2015 edition of the award-winning Children of St. Augustine Indian Mission Calendar showcasing Fr. Doll s photography. Photographs reveal cultures and help other people see those cultures. When you make these pictures larger than life it says, These people are special. We treasure them, says Fr. Doll. St. Augustine Indian Mission is on the Winnebago Reservation, 22 miles southwest of Sioux City. Founded in 1909 by St. Katharine Drexel, the private, non-profit school enrolls more than 125 students, kindergarten through eighth grade, of diverse faiths and heritages. They study traditional language and culture along with a solid core of academics.
