Additional Ink Limit Choices Ink Limit Ink Limit is an important parameter to control total amount of CMYK inks. Without this control the ink amount exceeds the limit of paper and various PQ failure will occur. PQ Failure due to exceeded ink amount Cockling Paper gets wavy and the printheads hit and rub the image Bleed through Printed images bleed through to the other side of the paper Bleeding Colors are bleeding into each other resulting in Jagged edges Beading ink beads up into little balls resulting in non smooth image Lack of drying ink do not dry Offset wet ink transfers to rollers and other images Ink Limit defines the maximum amount of inks to avoid the above PQ defects. Different ink limit setting should be used depending on paper characteristics. VC60000 has the following Ink Limit setting as user selectable parameters. Current settings New settings Low (120%) Low (120%) - Medium low (160%) Medium (180%) Medium (180%) High (210%) Medium high (210%) None - High (240%) None

17 New Black Ink In 2017, Ricoh will release a replacement for our Black ink for the VC60000. Based on customer feedback and our own investigations we have made subtle changes to our Black ink formula that will provide a reduction in cleaning, saving time and cost. This new ink will be a direct replacement for your existing black ink. Thorough testing has been completed and proven, you will simply insert the new style ink when replenishment is required directly into the system. The older style and new style inks are completely compatible with one another and can coexist in the ink delivery system. Although we recommend using your older inks first to manage shelf life, should you come across an old style ink in your inventory, it can be inserted with no concern. Lastly, since the inks have the same core based materials and only subtle changes were made to the mixtures of the materials, you can expect the same high level of print quality you have come accustom to with the VC60000. There will be no need to make any changes to how color is managed, settings used for your production work or overall workflow. We will work with you to manage your existing inventory and assist you in planning when the new version of the black ink is available for purchase.
