Technical Application Sheet Version:2.01 Edition:01/8/2015 Anti-Graffiti Anti-Graffiti OVERVIEW OUR PRODUCT VS. CONVENTIONAL CLEANERS Anti-Graffiti is a Sol-Gel based, chemical nanotechnology 2 component coating that protects from graffiti-paints and other contamination. Removing anti-graffiti is always expansive and problematic. The best way to resolve this problem is prior protection of the facades and construction from graffiti vandalism with up to date chemical technology products. Our company produces new type of protective coating anti-graffiti water emulsion which creates on building s and construction s surfaces protective barrier layer. Anti-graffiti is recommended for permanent protection from graffiti. In Healthcare environments, it is important to understand the fundamental differences between surface protection and other cleaner. The building owner tries in first remove mural painting by solvent. Solvent dilutes paint and brings it into material. There are spots and paint traces remain in surface Many graffiti removal and restoration efforts can leave surfaces looking as bad, or worse, than before the work began such as chemical removal. This method actually removes the graffiti in earnest. These are cleaning products with active chemicals which remove the graffiti from the surface. But this approach damages the surface, especially painted surfaces. Other conventional method is the paint out method which means painting over the graffiti, so that it can no longer be seen. Furthermore if this method is used regularly on the same wall or surface, the paint begins to peel, leading to the method being an ineffective long term strategy for graffiti removal. Here is where Anti-Graffiti, surface protectant excels. Anti-graffiti creates on building s and construction s surfaces protective barrier layer which protects not only form Graffiti but also from water absorption, oily liquids and makes Page 1
surfaces resistant to UV radiation. Anti-graffiti is recommended for permanent protection from graffiti. It has no influence on the color substrate. Also it prevents growth of moss and lichen on protected surfaces. Protected surfaces become hydrophobic. Water absorption is reduced. The removal of Graffiti becomes much easier, Graffiti is removed with barrier film by hot water under pressure. Equipment and coverage rate: Equipment required for applying Anti-Graffiti is very simple. The application method for window is by wiping, spraying or rolling the surface. The coverage rate using this method is 10-13 m2/l depending on the substrate. PPE- Personnel Protective Equipment Pre- application requirements: The safety of the applicator is extremely important. The application area must be well ventilated. And in case of insufficient ventilation they must wear suitable respiratory equipment. The applicators should wear protective gloves and goggles. The applicator must wear protective clothing of rubber or PVC. The bonding technology of Anti-Graffiti, a process called polymerization requires certain surface conditions. All surfaces to be treated must be clean and dry before application To achieve the product's full effect, the substrates to be dry and free of any fats and prior to application the bonding should be confirmed on a test panel. Using spraying method: Here are some tips to achieve the best possible coverage with the HVLP sprayer: 1. Before each job, ensure that the HVLP sprayer is in good working 2. The optimal spraying distance from the target surface is about 4-6 inches to give the most even coating. The processing temperature varies from +5 to +30 C 3. Hold the spray gun at right angles to the target surface. Starting at the highest point and using zig-zag horizontal strokes with 0.07 nozzle. 4. You can use vertical strokes if it suits the area better. Just make sure to work in a methodical pattern and let your strokes overlap. 5. When moving to the next section, allow it to overlap the previous section by a few centimeters. Do not leave a gap. 6. The target surface should just barely glisten with the nano coating. Do not over-saturate the surface; if you see runs or puddles it means you are wasting coating. Check to make sure the newly-coated surface is very slightly damp. (layer thickness 5-15 um) 7. Be careful to keep the spraygun barrel as level as possible. If you allow the nozzle to point down too much, it may drip occasionally Page 3
Using Rolling : 1. Dip the brush bristles 1 to 2 in. into the paint to load the brush. The more paint the brush carries, the faster you ll coat the woodwork, but you want to avoid dripping. Tap the tip of the brush against the pail, like the clapper of a bell. 2. Start at the top of the board with the loaded brush and stroke down toward the middle. The paint should flow smoothly onto the surface with little effort on your part. When the brush begins to drag, stop and reload. 3. After finishing, Clean the brush immediately after stopping Areas of Treatment Could be applied on Painted surfaces Metal Glass Wood Mineral surfaces Carbon-fiber compounds Post-application process Page 4
In application areas, Anti-graffiti,should be allowed to air dry. The dust-dry is after approximately 2 hours at 23 C at 50 % relative air humidity. The touch-dry is after approximately 48 hours at 23 C at 50% relative air humidity. Closing Notes There is no doubt, that the use of Anti-graffiti surface protector will have positive effects on all applied surfaces. Our product provides long term protection for surfaces which helps in removal of Graffiti without the presence of any traces. Also, it minimizes the expose to conventional chemicals removal which has severe environment impacts. Time required to remove Graffiti should no longer be a concern. Page 5
