The Report on IEI & WIIF 2018 Foshan Opening Ceremony The 10 th International Exhibition of Inventions and the 3 rd World Invention and Innovation Forum (IEI & WIIF 2018) were held at Guangzhou Tanzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center (GICEC) in Foshan, Guongdong Province of P.R.China during 13-15 SEPT 2018. The theme of this event is Inventions Make Dream Come True, Innovation Leads the Trends for Tomorrow.
Mr. Alireza Rastegar, IFIA President, was invited to address at the opening ceremony. This Exhibition occupied 40,000 square meters with more than 4,000 displayed items of inventions and innovations at home and abroad with 5 exhibition areas: international area; civil-military integration area; national invention and Innovation area;youth invention and Innovation area and the area for Guangdong- Hong Kong -Macao Greater Bay Area. It focuses on the display of AI and other new technologies and inventions, and China's achievements in science and technology, invention and innovation on the 40 th anniversary of reform and opening up. About 350 participants from 52 countries and international organizations attended this event as well as delegations from Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong and Macao areas. Excellent inventions were granted the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals as well as special prizes from WIPO, IFIA, etc.
Mr. George Smoot (the Nobel laureate in physics of 2006) and Mr. Luc Antoine Montagnier (the Nobel laureate in medicine of 2008) and famous Chinese experts Yan Chuliang, Liu Ke, Chen Kefu, Yang Fengtian and other academicians as well as national and international leaders, experts and inventors were invited to give keynote speeches or session speeches at the plenary session and the 3 breakout sessions of WIIF to discuss the world's innovation in science and technology. 34 speeches on special topics such as AI technology, global technological innovation and industrial collaboration, civil - military integration development and matters of common concerns in innovation, so on were presented by both Chinese and international speakers.
International participants visited a modernized solid waste disposal factory during the event.
CAI attaches great importance to the transformation of invention results. During the exhibition, China Academy of Invention Achievement Transformation signed the intentions with its domestic and foreign partners to set up the State key laboratories of magnetic
resonance application, the ecological and environmental protection toilet project, the 5G chip radio frequency project, the quantum entanglement research and application laboratory of water molecules and other projects in Foshan High-tech Zone. CAIAT was established in cooperation with the Foshan Municipal Government in 2017. Based in Foshan, the Academy will engage in technical transformation from the Guangdong- Hong Kong -Macao Greater Bay Area, to the whole country and the whole world to industrialize and commercialize the inventions. It will become an important supporting platform for international transformation. This exhibition shows the world's latest inventions and good atmosphere of invention and innovation. At the same time, the Legal Service Assistance Center set up by CAI will provide legal consultation and protection services for inventors, encourage inventors, entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs to be enthusiastic about innovation and entrepreneurship, and make new contributions to the establishment of an innovative country and a world science and technology power.
