Loose Lay Luxury Vinyl Plank FLEX COLLECTION Installation & maintenance * PLEASE READ CAREFULLY * Installation, maintenance & warranty guideline for loose lay luxury vinyl products. Adherence to This guideline is mandatory for warranty purposes. Suitable Environments All areas where flooring product will be installed must have a working climate control system. Conditions at the time of installation are expected to remain consistent during normal use; 18-29ºC, with a maximum relative humidity of 65%. Flooring products need to be acclimatized in the climate controlled location for at least 48 hours prior to installation. SUITABLE SURFACES Lightly textured or porous surfaces and well-bonded solid floors are suitable for PurParket Latitude Flex Collection installations. The sub-floor must be dry, smooth, level, clean, and dust-free, with a tolerance not exceeding more than 1/8" in a 6' span. Dry, clean, and well-cured concrete (cured for at least 6 weeks prior to installation) must be free from dust, powder, flaking, solvent, paint, wax, grease oil, and must have a relative humidity of less than 75%. All sub-floor and underlayment patching must be done with a non-shrinking, waterresistant Portland cement patching compound. Holes, grooves/expansion joints, and other depressions must be filled with a Portland cement-based underlayment and troweled smooth and feathered even to the surrounding surface. All wood and wood composition panels (plywood, OSB, flake boards, and particle boards) can be used provided they are smooth, flat, structurally sound, and free of deflection. Ceramic tile should be made smooth by applying a cement overlay such as patching or leveling compound to smooth out grout joints. UNSUITABLE SURFACES Rough, uneven surfaces, including carpet and underlayment are unsuitable for the installation of PurParket Latitude Flex product. Rough, heavily textured and/or uneven surfaces may telegraph through the vinyl and distort the finished surface. This product is not suitable for rooms that could potentially flood or rooms that have damp concrete or saunas. Please consult with your PurParket retailer. Heavily cushioned vinyl flooring or vinyl flooring consisting of multiple layers are NOT suitable sub-floors. Sub-floors soiled with dirt, dust, powder, solvent, paint, wax, grease, and oil are not suitable for installation. WARNING: DO NOT REMOVE OLD RESILIENT FLOORING. THESE PRODUCTS MAY CONTAIN EITHER ASBESTOS FIBERS OR CRYSTALLINE SILICA, WHICH CAN BE HARMFUL TO YOUR HEALTH.

NEVER SCRAPE ADHESIVE RESIDUE THAT MAY CONTAIN ASBESTOS. NEVER USE LIQUID CHEMICALS TO REMOVE OLD ADHESIVE. SOLVENTS OR OTHER ABRASIVE CHEMICALS USED TO CLEAN THE SUB-FLOOR CAN DAMAGE THE BACKING OF THE LUXURY VINYL PLANKS OR TILES IF NOT PROPERLY REMOVED. RADIANT HEATED FLOORS Loose lay LVP can be installed using an MS polymer adhesive over hydronic radiant heated floors or electric radiant heated floors that use embedded cables under the sub-floor. Do not install over any electric heating mat that is installed on top of the sub-floor. Do not turn heat above 27ºC (80.6ºF). PREPARATION Luxury Vinyl Planks (LVP) must be allowed to acclimatize for at least 48 hours prior to installation. Carefully check planks for any defects before installation. Check that all item numbers are the same and that you have purchased sufficient material to complete the job. Confirm that the area of installation meets the SUITABLE ENVIRONMENTS guideline prior to installation. Confirm the sub-floor meets the SUITABLE SURFACES guideline prior to installation. TOOLS AND SUPPLIES Utility knifeapproved acrylic-based adhesive (Wakol D3330, D3320, MS550); 1/16" x 1/16" x 1/16" square notch trowel; pencil; tape measure; ruler; and safety goggles. Adhesive guidelines and adhesive instructions be found on the adhesive bucket. Approved adhesives can be ordered through your PurParket retailer. INSTALLATION *** Before installation, ensure that the suitable environments, and suitable surfaces guidelines have been met. Neglecting to meet guidelines may result in a voided warranty*** Planning Your Floor 1) First determine the direction you want the flooring to run. Typically for luxury vinyl planks (LVP), the flooring runs with the length of the room. 2) It is important to think ahead in order to avoid narrow planks widths or short plank lengths near walls and doors. Using the width of the room, calculate how many full boards will fit into the area, and how much space remains that will need to be covered by partial planks (width of room in inches width of plank in inches). Do the same calculation for the length of the room (length of room in inches length of plank in inches). Adjust the starting plank as necessary to avoid a narrow row of planks along a wall or door.

3) Expansion Gap (diagram 1). All structures shift and move, this is why it is required to have an expansion gap off all walls. Planks or tiles should be placed 1/4" off the wall, or wall plate. If an installation area is less than 20' in the longest direction, an 1/8" expansion gap is sufficient. Drywall and trim will cover the gap. 4) LVP planks should be installed from one corner of the room working your way out row by row. Begin laying your floor at the corner of the longest wall. Lay a complete row of planks to determine the length of the final plank. 5) If the last plank (fill piece) is shorter than 6", then adjust the starting point accordingly. This is necessary in order to achieve the correct staggered effect. The cut edge should always face the wall. 6} To make any fill pieces, simply score the top of the surface of the LVT plank or tile using a utility knife and a straight edge, then snap downward. 7) Start the next row. Planks should be installed randomly, staggering the end joints, not less than 6" from the previous row end joints. Keep planks and tiles squared and tight to the surrounding floor (diagram 2). The Perimeter Apply an adhesive strip with the same width as the LV Plank around the perimeter of the room, using the recommended trowel. If an installation area is larger than 12' in any direction, then it is recommended that additional adhesive strips are applied in a grid formation ensuring a maximum distance of 12' between adhesive strips. Using your starting point, apply your first row of planks to the adhesive. Check that the position is correct and firmly apply pressure to achieve complete contact with the adhesive. Continue laying the first row this way, ensuring a close fit but do not force together. When you reach the end of the row, cut the last plank to fit. Cut edge should always face the wall. Follow adhesive guidelines found on the adhesive bucket.

Continue Laying the Floor 8) Continue to lay down the planks with strips of adhesive at a maximum of every 12' creating a grid formation. 9) If the off-cut piece from your last row is longer the 6", you can use this to start your second row. Only use cut off piece to start new row every 4-6 rows. Ensure that the cut edge always faces the wall. 10) Stagger the joints a minimum 6" apart (diagram 2). Continue installing planks in the same way as described above. 11) To fit air vents, door frames, etc., make a cardboard pattern as a guide and use this to draw an outline on the plank. Cut to shape and check that it fits. It should fit snugly and should not be forced into place. Stairs For installation on stairs and landings, it is mandatory to fully adhere the planks using the approved adhesive (Wakol D3330, D3320, MS550). Stair nosing should be metal or rubber. MAINTENANCE When you have finished laying your floor, clean up any remaining or spilled adhesive with a damp cloth. Allow up to 7 days before washing the floor to ensure the planks are adhered to the sub-floor. If an edge or corner of the flooring happens to lift slightly in specific areas, use adhesive to adhere the floor flush to the sub-floor. Sweep regularly to remove surface grit and dust. Use a damp cloth or mop to clean up any dirt and footprints. All spills should be cleaned up immediately. Never use wax, polish, abrasive cleaners, or scouring agents as they might dull or distort the finish. High heels can damage floors. Use protective pads under furniture. Do not use rubber or metal pads. Felt pads are highly recommended. Use doormats at entrance ways to protect the floor. Avoid using rubber backed rugs as they may stain or discolor the flooring. It s a good idea to save a box of LVT planks or tiles in case of accidental damage. Planks can be repaired or replaced by a flooring professional. If other trades are in the work area, a floor protector is highly recommended to help protect the finish of the floor. CAUTION: Some types of nails, such as common steel nails, cement coated or resin-coated nails, may cause discoloration of the LVT floor covering. Use only non-staining fasteners with underlayrnent panels. The procedure of gluing and screwing underlayment panels is not recommended. Solvent-based construction adhesives are known to stain LVT floor coverings. All responsibility for discoloration problems caused by fastener staining or the use of solvent-based construction adhesive rests on the flooring installer and/ or customer.

SPECIAL NOTES For commercial applications, in areas of high foot traffic, more volatile temperature variations, rolling load, or areas with excess moisture such as bathrooms, laundry rooms, restaurants, etc.; LVT planks and tiles must be fully adhered to the floor. For commercial installations, any adhesive installed planks or tiles must be rolled with a 3-section 100 lbs roller. LVT planks and tiles must be acclimatized for a MINIMUM of 48 hours prior to installation. LVT planks and tiles must be installed with an expansion and contracting gap on every wall. LVT planks and tiles must be installed in climate controlled environments. ***NEGLECTING THESE IMPORTANT INSTALLATION GUIDELINES MAY RESULT IN A VOIDED WARRANTY*** We thank you for your purchase of our Luxury Vinyl flooring. All flooring products are manufactured from the highest standards in quality to achieve a durable yet beautiful product that will last for many years to come.
