Helping your business grow in the UK health system
OVERVIEW PROVIDING INSIGHT AND HELPING YOU DELIVER INNOVATIVE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES TO THE NHS AND BEYOND. The health system is a complex and uncertain environment. We provide the expertise to help your organisation identify barriers to entry, and assess and target opportunities in the NHS ecosystem. This document is for you if you are interested in bringing innovative drugs, devices, diagnostics, services and digital products to patients in the NHS and beyond.
The historical model where innovators simply throw new products at health care systems and allow them to layer these onto existing pathways is no longer viable. We believe that health care systems and innovators need to work together to demonstrate the way in which innovations change pathways and improve outcomes. Professor Sir John Bell, Regius Professor of Medicine at the University of Oxford, Accelerated Access Review Final Report (2016)

Using innovation to remove financial barriers to rehabilitation after stroke The virtual physiotherapist device, GripAble, helps paralysed patients exercise using computer games meaning patients can exercise in the comfort of their own homes with better outcomes. ICHP worked with Gripable to assess the scalability of the device and the supporting software, develop the concept with industry, test with patients and bring to the market. Cutting through the red tape to bring innovations to the health system is incredibly difficult. Working with ICHP ensured GripAble could break down barriers across different sectors. Their expertise allowed us to establish the full impact our device could have and provided a detailed market analysis. The support helped further product development and ultimately resulted in putting us in a stronger position to attract larger investment and differentiate ourselves in the marketplace.
