Instruction for Innovative Demonstration Outline Title: IDW 14 Innovative Demonstration Session Overview In addition to the usual oral and poster presentations, we will provide an ideal forum for elaborate demonstrations. Our objective is to try to vitalize discussion and encourage research and development by allowing participants, through demonstrations of actual devices, to see, feel and experience the originality and high innovativeness of new technologies in the accepted papers. With a floor space over four times larger than the poster booths and plenty of time to prepare equipment, it will be possible to give demonstrations of large items and even of bulky machinery that requires a lot of time to set up. The Best Innovative Demonstration Award will be awarded to the demonstration that has the biggest impact on the audience. Opening Hours: (1)December 4 (Thu.) 16:45 to 19:30 Innovative Demonstration Session (1) (2)December 5 (Fri.) 12:30 to 15:15 Innovative Demonstration Session (2) You can give a demonstration at your allotted session. Move-in and set up Items may be moved in from 9:00 in the morning. Dismantling and move-out: Around one hour after the end of the exhibition. Entry Requirements Conditions for participating in the Innovative Demonstration Session 1 Those whose papers have been accepted for the oral and poster sessions are able to exhibit at the Innovative Demonstrations Session. 2 The official language of the meeting is English. Therefore, please prepare posters and other materials in English. 3 Standard floor space of one booth width 3600 mm x depth 3000 mm; provided in each booth will be 4 desks (width 1800 mm x depth 450 mm x height 700 mm) plus background panel (width 2400 mm x height 2400 mm), electric power source (single phase 100 V, 50 Hz, use of electricity negotiable). No partitions will be put in place between the booths. One booth will be available for use but if you require two or more booths you must contact the Secretariat beforehand. We will make every effort to satisfy your requests concerning location of the booths. 2

Exhibitions can be held on one of either of the exhibition days. In some cases the exhibition day may differ from the presentation day and Innovative Demonstration Session may be held before the presentation. 5 Participants in the Innovative Demonstration Session must bear the full responsibility for bringing in equipment, installing it, removing it, insurance, special equipment and costs. N.B. 1) The details above may be subject to alteration due the conference program, or other reasons. 2) You will be sent detailed literature about the situating of exhibition booths, bringing items in and out, how to set them up etc. after your entry has been received. 6 The Best Innovative Demonstration Award will be awarded to the demonstration that has the biggest impact on the audience. Deadlines, etc. - Submission of exhibition outline, abstract and image: by September 25 at the same time as the deadline for Camera-Ready Manuscript. N.B. You can cancel as you wish prior to submission of the exhibition outline. 3
PR Your participation in the Innovative Demonstration Session will be advertised on the website and in the Final Program published in November. Attention Any advertisement (placing signboards, distributing catalogues, etc.) are prohibited during the Innovative Demonstration Session. Demonstration Abstract and image: Those preferring to have their abstract and an image of their demonstration published on the IDW website and final program should submit an abstract of their demonstration that is 35 to 50 words in length in an electronic file (MS-Word file) and one demonstration image file (JPEG 640(H)*480(V) pixels) via email to the IDW 14 Secretariat ( idw-prog@idw.or.jp) at the time of your paper submission.
